About this guide: This is a second guide after Graphics one. Firstly I just wanted to share my combat mods loard order for immersive and challenging playthrough, but then, as well as with Graphics guide I decided to create a wide list of Gameplay & Immersion mods for you guys, alongside with patches/fixes list and some my personal comments. This consists of three parts - Expansion, Gameplay and Immersion. Expansion contains list of mods that add new lands/dungeons/quests/armors and weapons and so on. Gameplay part is for magic/spells/perks/combat and many other mods that affect your gameplay variety and difficulty. Immersion part contains mods that makes your playthrough more atmospheric and realistic in overall, be it survival, needs or atmostheric game design additions. To make guide navigation easier, I placed guide sections into so called "spoilers" - when you see "Show button - just click on it to expand corresponding group of mods. Click "Hide" again to close it. You can also quickly jump from section to section using the navigation menu in the right side of the page.
But here come another exciting part! Guide also has so called "modules" - a premade mod lists (don't confuse with mod packs please) for different tastes and goals - which you only need to mimic, without worrying about incompatibiities and other issues. Modules will fit perfectly the people who don't have enough of free time to go through whole guide themselves.
Do not re-upload this guide to other website and/or resources, do not claim it as own work and do not sell it. In the rest - feel free to translate into other languages (just message me in Discord first), I'd be glad if you'll link it to help other people and so on. I'm here to serve - the more people can have stable ultramodded game, the happier I will be :)

The biggest problem of heavy-modded games - script overload, which appears due to incredibly limited game script engine, Papyrus, is still there and having too many script-heavy mods may break even the most stable game. Worry not! Many script-heavy mods are marked with special mark in the guide, so you'll know in advance which mods you'll need to be careful with.
Merging the mods easier than ever before! Mods that can be easily merged in a few click - marked with a special sign - so you don't need to spend own time checking for many factors. Currently, more than 270 mods are marked already, meaning that's literally more than 270 mods you can merge straight away, and I will expand this gradually.
Pre-made mod lists for different tastes and goals, which you only need to mimic and don't worry about incompatibilities and other issues - in addition to the whole guide itself.
Uncapper .INI file already pre-tweaked for you - for rewarding and balanced leveling and skills progression, coming with 3 different templates to choose from.

Q: What are your PC specs? A: Intel i5 6600k, GTX 980 4GB, 16GB RAM, 1920x1080 Full HD monitor, Windows 10.
Q: So I should install ALL mods from this list? A: No, definitely no. This is a guide - it gives you an ability to compare and choose. Moreover, when it comes to gameplay mods, they often change the same things in game, sometimes are script-heavy so you may think install them or no and so on, so you need to carefully choose each mod you like and read about it. Open mod pages, browse the images, read the description. Install what you like and don't install what you don't like, but remember to not overload your game, don't install mods blindly :)
Q: How about modded game stability in overall? A: Please, follow "How to start & stability" section in graphics guide. This is required. Mandatory. You can not skip this. Even if you don't plan to use graphics mods themselves, you still must follow all the steps from this section.
Q: Is installation order important for mods from this guide? A: Unlike with texture mods, installation order doesn't matter in 99% of cases, but load order matters. Mostly you can trust LOOT automatic sorting, but still, read each mod page attentively as it may have special instructions for manual load order.
Q: I got infinite loading screen/my game crashes/I have enourmous stutters and FPS drops/I have some weird gameplay bugs. A: Please read "How to start & stability" section in graphics guide carefully and "Before you start and essential mods" section in this guide. Read it and install all the things needed before starting to install mods from the list themselves.
Q: That doesn't help! A: Trust me, if you have read everything carefully and installed, it will solve all your problems in 99% of cases. If not, feel free to ask in comments, or better join our Discord server and community members or I will try our best to help you :)
Q: I expected to find this mod in this guide section/category, but it's not there. What to do? A: Sometimes gameplay mods are really complex and its can category be pretty "blurred". For example, Revenge of the Enemies mod is in "Gameplay Effects and Changes" category on Nexus, but it can be easily called an Overhaul as well, as it's a complete overhaul of almost all enemies in the game in meaning if their abilities. So, just keep reading. With 99.9% chance you'll just find it in another section. But if not - feel free to suggest to add it in Discord.
Q: Where are you from? A few words about you? A: Ukraine. Gamer, retarded slavic youtuber youtuber and gym addict. Web-developer in past, fitness trainer and nutritionist now (as hobby).
Q: Would you expand this guide and add this/that? A: Sure! That's why I made version 3.0. And for sure, I will update and improve it. Unstoppably. :)
Q: Ok, guide just received massive update, but how can I see the little new additions? A: I add mods and fix text errors few times per week. All the mods freshly added to the guide will be marked with red-colored "==NEW==" sign.
Q: Can you just upload your Skyrim folder with all your mods somewhere so I can just download it and not to choose and install mods one by one? A: Unfortunately, no. The reasons: Firstly - I can't do this as many mods from the list are Nexus-exslusive and mod authors didn't give a permission to re-upload their works somewhere. I respect their work. Secondly - everyone has absolutely different PC specs, and my setup can be absolutely unplayable for many people. Trust me - when you're making your mod setup by yourself the result will be way better because most of mods are absolutely matter of taste.

Now, the first and most important rule. Keeping it will drive you to the peaks of glory with 700 mods and 100% stable game.

Great, now let's go!
1) Carefully follow the "How to start & stability" section in graphics guide. I'M SERIOUS, FOLLOW IT. This is required. Mandatory. You can not skip this. Even if you don't plan to use graphics mods themselves, you still must follow all the steps from this section. This section is a base for a stable and comfortable game in overall no matter what mods you will install later.
2) Install Modern Brawl Bug Fix. The ultimate solution to brawls that break instantly or turn into real fights. Compatible with any mod. Note: if you will use Ordinator perk overhaul mod or Wildcat combat mod, you can not install this mod as it's uncluded in these two (if you are not sure, install it now and just remove later).
4) Install Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade. Essential mod from author of previous two fixes. CCOR is reworking all vanilla craft recipes, offers many options for mining, chopping, smelting and so on - simply making everything crafting-related to be logical and really interesting. That's why you need it even if you never actually crafted a single thing in Skyrim - because now it's not that dull crafting system. Consider it as the vanilla part of the game as it always should have been from the release. Most of mod options can be enabled/disabled and configured via MCM menu. Note: CCOR has another useful feature - it already includes some great mods in it, namely the "BANDOLIERS - BAGS AND POUCHES", "CLOAKS OF SKYRIM", "JAYSUS SWORDS", "JEWELCRAFT" and "WINTER IS COMING - CLOAKS" (and ofc, adjusted for CCOR design) - so if you are planning to use use them, all you need is to install the mods themselves, but disable their plugins (.esp files), and then enable those mods functionality in CCOR's MCM.
5) Install Wiseman303's Flora Fixes + Wiseman303's Critter Fixes + Better Harvesting. Tiny and not noticable in general, but also must-have mods that are fixing various little bugs and/or irrational things. Important: when you'll be insatlling Better Harvesting, go to "Files" tab and download "Better Harvesting (for Wiseman's Flora Fixes)" version, and only this one (main file is not needed).
6) Install Inconsequential NPCs and Citizens of Tamriel . These mods is something game should have from the day one - simply essential. First one adding various NPCs here and there in Skyrim, greatly fitting the city/town/region - you will never even think these NPCs are from the mod as they are acting absolutely seamlessly. Carriages now finally have guards, there are skooma dealers and flower girls in Riften, much more mercenaries, college studends, tavern patrons, workers, towncriers and much more. Second one is adding 25 NPCs to the game world with incredibly, brilliantly written dialogues and backstories which blend into the game world seamlessly - just where they need to be, filling empty spaces and often empty dialogues of misc Skyrim NPCs. The mod doesn't add too much (once again, only 25 per whole game world), and it's compatible with everything - a great, immersive addition. Also grab this beautiful addon ==NEW== for Inconsequentual NPCs.
7) Instal Skyrim Community Uncapper. This amazing mod allows you to get rid of silly vanilla "legendary" skills system by simply uncapping your skills - so now you can raise skills above 100, and all related multipliers and modifiers (even enchanting and alchemy) will grow as well. Besides that, Uncapper does tons of oher useful things - you can determine leveling speed (strongly recommened to make it slower to not get lost on huge amount of new things in game if you have heavy-modded game), how many attributes you receive per at levelup (and at which level as well), how many perk points you receive at levelup (and at which level as well) and many other things. When just installed, it does nothing besides the very base. In "Files" tab section you can find archive with my Uncapper .INI files (different version for different tastes, also please be sure to read the readme) and use this .INI file, or just tweak it yourself, all lines in .INI file are pretty much self-explanatory.
8) Install Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice. An SKSE plugin that adds support for unvoiced in-game dialog which will be very useful to you in heavy-modded game.
9) Install Auto Unequip Ammo. A must-have mod which is simply automatically unequips bow/crossbow ammo from your back after ranged weapon is unequipped.
10) Install Dynamic Animation Replacer ==NEW==. This mod applies different animations to each ActorBase. By using custom conditions, users can customize (in the ini file) the conditions for applying animations. Pure SKSE mod so doesn't take a plugin slot. It will be required mod many amazing animation mods later.
11) Install Difficulty Balance ==NEW==. This mod makes that the player and allies have the same difficulty damage factor. As a result, it will be corrected that the higher the difficulty, the less damage will be caused to the followers and the summoned actors.
Congrats, you're ready now.
Quests and new lands, dungeons, new armors, weapons and artifacts, followers and player homes. Many of quest/new land mods listed here are really big and complex and can give you dozens of interesting gameplay hours not worse then official Skyrim DLCs.
Take into account that you shouldn't just install all the mods in this section. Moreover, statistics shows that one almost never finish all those dozens of quest mods installed in a single walkthrough. It's recommended to get like 4-6 big quest/new land mods and a few smaller ones.
Summerset Isle Amazing DLC-sized mod that gives us a great adventure in the land of Altmer. Fully voiced. Unique items, dozens of towns, cities & dungeons. New bosses and minibosses. Note: read compatibility section carefully. Also be sure to download and install patch for Verdant if you use it. Uninstall patch when you come back to Skyrim. Patches: Summerset Isle - Merged Patches it only doesn't contains RND patch, take it from here.
Darkend Amazing new land mod inspired by Dark/Demon Souls series. Atmospheric, dark location, very detailed and interesting to explore. New creepy enemies, tough bosses and powerful weapons are waiting. For those who already have it - check out mod page for the new version. Patches: Typo Patch - Darkend Darkend Balance Patch Balances some really overpowered artifacts from this mod. Matter of taste, ofc.
The Paarthurnax Dilemma Disappointed with how ruthless and unforgiving the Blades were at the end of the main quest? Felt like you should have been able to put your foot down and make them see reason? Well now you can!
The Paarthurnax Ultimatum ==NEW==Adds conversation options to Delphine that allow you to complete the "Paarthurnax" quest and still be on good terms with both the Blades and the Greybeards. Has a compatibility version for "Paarthurnax Dilemma" above.
Helgen Reborn Awesome mod for rebuilding Helgen.Fully voiced questline, great story.New dungeons, 3 new armor sets, private tower player home. Interactive display room that transforms as you play the game.
The Tools of Kagrenac Go on a quest to recover the legendary Tools of Kagrenac. Encounter new allies and enemies, explore sprawling dungeons and add powerful new artifacts and spells to your arsenal in this new and fully voiced quest mod.
Project AHO A new and must-play quest mod. Don't you even dare to skip it Let me explain: if I would make my "Top 10 Quest Mods" video today, Project AHO definitelly would be in the list of 5 best quest mods ever made. Everything in this mod is just amazing - breathtaking detective storyline with multiple endings, brilliant voice acting, stunningly beautiful worldspace design and a lot of puns and references at the same time. I never felt such a deep and detailed recreation of Morrowind vibes as in this mod. Try it for sure! And don't forget to grab Dual Sheath Redux patch for it if you have or planning to have DSR.
Coldhaven - A Vampire City Another amazing mod from Better Vampires author - fully standalone and compatible with any other vampire overhauls, a new vampire town is waiting for you!
Path of The Revenant It seems that a powerful necromancer is hiding near Dawnstar, will you cleanse his lair for the good of Skyrim? Or perhaps you seek to take his power for your own?
Moon and Star Amazing detective story. Interesting questline, 4 side quests, 9 voiced NPCs. New town, weapons and dungeons with new boss fights. Ingame aftermath events that take place after the main quest has been completed. Your actions have consequences! Patches: Moon and Star - RS Children Patch
The Brotherhood of Old Amazing, fully-voiced, thrilling Dark Brotherhood mod with multiple endings. Mod continues DB questline after you finished the vanilla storyline, giving you a lot of new opportunities to either destroy DB completely or bring it to absolutely new level of glory! Absolutely must have and my personal recommendation - it feels like a native part of the game.
The Forgotten City Amazing, dynamic, incredibly detailed! Beautiful, intricately detailed new city to explore. Non-linear story with several endings. Amazing orchestral soundtrack, big community of fully-voicedNPC with backstories. Discover secrets, mysteries, and relics that are thousands of years old. Enjoy! You may also find RS Children patch for it useful if you're using RS Children mod.
Carved Brink From the authors of incredible Project AHO, this mod has one of the most unique, beautiful and simply breathtaking level design I ever seen in mods and in most of games at all. Not as long and complex as Project AHO, but rather deeply unique and just fantasy-charming, and with plenty of comedic moments and references - something you should definitely play sooner or later. Better sooner. Patches for Hammet's Dungeon Pack, Dual Sheath Redux and ICFH are available.
The Sinister Seven The Sinister Seven is a backstory quest line. Seven Assassins are dispatched to kill the player, taking place across several levels. This grants stalking minions and seven intense single duels as the assassins chase the player across the land. It is meant to give an open ended background storyline, along with the feeling of being hunted.
Skygerfall -- Daggerfall's Main Quest in TESV Absolutely titanic work here. A new land mod where you can literally play through the entire Main Quest of TESII: Daggerfall in the TESV engine, at the end of which you can choose to continue your character's adventures in Skyrim, taking all your loot, experience and new spells with you. You can watch a brief showcase here.
Midwood Isle Travel to beautiful Midwood Isle, a small island home to the Sonmer, filled with quests and adventures. A middle-DLC-like in size. You can watch a review here.
Better Vampire Weapons Mod adds several unique, vampire-themed weapons, scattered across Skyrim, with a quest to obtain them. You shouldn't be a vampire in order to use the weapons.
Nyhus and the Border of Cyrodiil A brand new area to explore with 4 new towns with NPCs, 2 dungeons, 5 quests, a players house near Solstheim, a Castle south of Riften, fully voiced followers and more. Not much "indepth" mod, but a great one for overall exploration and map expanding.
Valley of Outcasts (Jerall Mountains Citadel) A freeform adventure centered around a large citadel in the Jerall Mountains. Over 1000 lines of voiced Dialogue and 12 quests oriented for all playstyles and made to integrate well with the base game.
The Last Refuge (Jerall Mountains Citadel II) A continuation of mod above. Go on an epic adventure to stop a powerful Lich from obtaining an Elder Scroll. Over 1200 lines of high-quality voice over, 9 major quests, and hours of new content.
The McMiller Chronicles An underrated, funny quest mod. Running a few errands for the merchant Angus McMiller results in a quest of deceit, revenge and treasure. Enter the Winking Skeever in Solitude and talk to Angus McMiller to start the quest.
Unslaad Quest mod of Half-Dragon. As always with Vicn mods - with astonishing level design.
Shadows of the past A few dungeons with a quests attached to them, from author of Skyrim Underground.
Identity Crisis ==NEW==Investigate the madness afflicting the Northern Asylum of Julianos, and earn the boon of the Madgod himself.
XamMaximus Secret - ACT I ==NEW==XamMaximus will put all your and Dovahkiin skills and abilities to the test. Can you overcame the horrors and discover what lies in the depths of this lost tomb and bring justice to the innocents?
The Shadow of Meresis ==NEW==This mod adds an extensive quest, leading you to various places all over Skyrim. In addition to new locations and dungeons you'll meet new NPCs with more than 200 fully voiced lines of dialogue spoken by three actors, 2-3 hours of gameplay.
Land of Vominheim ==NEW==A new land called Vominheim roughly the size of Solstheim. Features dozens of new locations to discover and explore.

Maelstrom - Fully Voiced Follower and Quest Mod A strange island has risen from the depths of the sea, an expedition to uncover its mystery is already on its way. Following the expedition's footsteps you uncover a tale of treachery, madness and dark secrets before you self are drawn into the Maelstrom. Features a fully voice acted follower and a multipart dungeon questline with two endings.
The Grand Paladin Journey beyond Skyrim and uncover the legacy of the ancient Dragonborn order in this small quest mod.
Dwarven Pride The mod will have you journeying deep under the ruins of Nchardak to a Dwarven prison complex and laboratory.
morrowind1979 profile For short and original mods. Most of this author works are not for everyone - they can be weird, creepy and gory (and ofc, not much "lore-friendly"), but if you're in for such journeys - take a look for sure.
Konahriks Accoutrements - Dragon Priest Armory Atmospheric, challenging, rewarding and replayable mod. Take a journey through time in the lost Dragon Priest temple, Revakheim. Unlock unique gear and create armor not seen since the First Era. Gain new powers and become stronger than ever. Fight ancient enemies and fulfill your destiny as the true "Konahrik" Warlord. You can also grab these HD textures ==NEW== - to make them work in LE, download the archive manually, unzip it, and resave texture files in Photoshop/Paint.NET/any other tool supporting textures editing, from BC7 into BC3 format. Konahrik The Priest - A Quest Mod ==NEW==This mod adds a quest to the game that fleshes out the lore behind the Konahrik mask and its eponymous dragon priest, as well as allowing you to upgrade the mask with a better enchantment. That's right, you get to take on the mighty Konahrik himself. Use this mod or the mod above.
I want to personally mention 4 (for now, last mod was released just lately and I hope this author will make more) little, but amazingly well-made and greatly voiced quest mods from the same author. The Notice Board Great immersion mod. Radiant quest overhaul and framework. This mod adds new and alternative radiant (and side) quests. It was inspired from other good games like The Witcher which make use of notice boards in their gameplay. There are two kinds of notice boards: • Quest notes Notice board – always on a pole with and candles • Messages Notice board – it’s the one without the pole These notice boards can be found ouside inns in every town of Skyrim. A patch for Raven Rock in Solstheim is also available, and don't forget to grab the fix patch for it. Other patches: The Notice Board Redefined - New Meshes and Textures
Missives A good addition to previous mod if you liked it. Adds a large number of localized radiant quests found at Missive Boards of varying difficulty and with varying rewards. A nice collection of patches is available.
Legacy of the Dragonborn (Dragonborn Gallery) This mod is something unique. Something incredible. It will make you to look at your playthrough from the absolute different view. This mod will inspire you to play Skyrim again and again. Mod features: Museum with 2263 displays, over 100 exploration quests. You can save your museum progress across multiple playthroughs. Displays of visited doomstones, custom paintings, basement store, MCM menu and (yes!) items from different mods support. 15 new dungeons, new guild - explorers guild, transmutation forge. This is only a part of full features list. Visit mod page to read more and of course to try it :) Note: this mod already has Moonpath to Elsweyr included which means you don't need to install Moonpath separetely and remove it if you already have it. The Lost Legacy of the Nine A qualitative expansion to both Legacy of the Dragonborn and the Knights of the nine, adding items and unmarked quests. The Wheels of Lull Awesome questline with a lot of secrets an puzzles, related with TES lore. Five dungeons within the main quest, complete with fleshed out boss battles, and massive, unique locations. A new town, complete with extensive characters. 7 side quests, 10 new weapons, new armors and even a new custom race.
Clockwork (Clockwork Castle) A fresh and brilliant quest mod. It was developed about 4 years, and the time spent is totally worth. Amazingly detailed cells design, interesting quests with unique creatures involved. Almost DLC-sized journey that will you will definitely like!
Ravengate Amazing and atmospheric arena/quest mod with challenging bossfights and thrilling characters backstories! Try it for sure, no matter which class you're playing.
Rigmor of Bruma Please read "note" before installing it! Awesome and huge, DLC-sized mod. It’s really unique - it’s story is not about Dragonborn, but really about Rigmor. Become her friend, protector or even go through a love story. Amazing voice actors, great amount of NPCs, 18 quests. Amazing journey awaits! Note: this mod has only one flaw - it's pretty script-heavy and have plenty of bugs and crashes. But it's definitely worthy to play at least once! The recommendation here is to install it, play the mod directly, uninstall, and the start a new game.
Rigmor of Cyrodiil If you liked Rigmor of Bruma, you'll be excited to play it's continuation taking place in Bruma itself. A second ambitious mod from the same author. Please take into account that it also suffers (but in less amount) of glitches here and there, so it's once again recommended to make a walkthrough of this mod itself, and then start a different walkthrough without it. But from the size and depth, it's really great!
The Oblivion Realms Serie - The Gate of Solitude The Oblivion Realms Serie - Morthal Pain Original mod series that bring planes of Oblivion to Skyrim. Enter the gates and face hordes of dremoras and daedras in the lands of Oblivion. Enemies in this mod are pretty hard as well as in great numbers so your character needs to be very god prepared for this challenge. Also check files section to choose difficulty patch if playthrough is too hard/easy for you.
Beyond Reach Huge area with the span of ~3 Skyrim Holds, rich detailed. New factions - Arnima, Evermore, The Witchmen, Orsinium's Sons, Dragonstar Mercenaries, The Exiles and The Afflicted. Voiced main quest with backstories as wel as 28 side quests, news spells, armors & weapons, 25 new dungeons. Patches: Beyond Reach - Tweaks and Enhancements
VIGILANT Became a vigilant of Stendarr and go through an amazing dark story. This mod is just fantastic, inspired by Dark Souls series in meaning of locations design, but staying in terms of the Elder Scrolls lore at the same time! Amazing dark and creepy locations, hordes of new features, giant unique bosses. New unique weapons, rings, lanterns and so on. The only thing is original mod is japanese, but there are links to English and other tralnslations. One of the best ever made for Skyrim, this quest mod is absolutely worth to try - especially now it has the english-voiced addon made by professional and semi-professional voice actors. Also don't forget to install this neat little retexture pack for it. If you like this mod, track his another very promising WIP project: GLENMORIL
Death Mountain and Death Mountain 2 In this mod you’ll need to pass through castle territory and the castle itself, beautifully designed. Study the history of Death Mountain, learn new spells and shouts in order to defeat hordes of enemies and the final dragon bosses. This mod difficulty is really hard so there are some options for difficulty.
Become a Skooma Drug Lord - Skooming Skyrim Ever wanted to be a drug lord in Skyrim? Try this :) A fully functional skooma lab. Quests to improve your skooming skills and influence. The ability to grow Moon Sugar and thus your own supply of the all important moon sugar. The ability to sell skoom on the streets by talking to NPCs and some more features.
Blood of the Nord Its a mid-sized quest mod that serves as the opening chapter in a series of plugins that explore the aftermath of Stormcloak victory, including the inevitable war with the Aldmeri Dominion. - Over 500 lines of dialogue - One new weapon - Includes several new dungeons and small worldspaces - The main quest provides roughly 2 hours of gameplay.
Invasion of Skyrim - Grand Admiral Thrawn Awesome quest mod related with new race arrived in Skyrim. 15+ armor sets, a unique "quest shell-system" that enables dozens of radiant quests pertaining to the mod to be active at a time, 26+ enchantments, 220+ NPCs, both enemy and ally. Enemies who can cripple you in a number of ways if your combat skills are poor. In addition, there are times when you are given a choice to refuse a quest, but the quest will automatically start regardless of your decision or you are forced to agree to do a job before hearing the details. Now quests won't start until you agree to them.
The Azure Tree Great exploration mod. Beautiful design. 5+ Dungeons. New Locations. New Content. Lots of loot. 5-7 Hours of Exploration. You’ll need to explore everything by yourself without quests - so if you like such a challenge, this mod is for you.
The Elder Scrolls V MIDDLE-EARTH Redone ENG This mod adds a few new regions of JRR Tolkien's Middle-earth to the game. There are Moria, Mirkwood, Lothlorien and Rohan. This mod is not lore-friendly but it’s just stunningly designed and may be an amazing land to explore for all LOTR fans. Don't forget to also install a bugfix patch for it.
Shard of Oblivion WIP This is a WIP (work in progress) mod that adds lands of Oblivion to Skyrim. It’s just amazingly detailed, and populated with new enemies, giving you a real feeling of being in Oblivion.
Shadow of Morrowind Another amazing WIP mod. The goal is to create a lore friendly 4E Morrowind.
The Haven From The Cold And Dark Beautiful new land mod that adds a set of Green Bosmer islands that are located between the Summerset Isles and Hammerfell. Player home, many shops and vendors, bath house and inn, many NPCs and guards. Working map and LOD and many beautiful places to explore/take screenshots.
Hidden Hideouts of Skyrim Very immersive mod. It adds 21 new areas pread across Skyrim. You can use all of them as a hideout/player home. Mod also offers DLC/non DLC as well as modular versions.
SeaPoint Settlement Awesome mod that adds new friendly location at the north-west coast part of Skyrim. Beautiful design, a lot of containers, new recipes, possibility to gain villagers favour, carriage system, new named horse and some more other features.
Dwarven Island Beautiful dwarven island which can serve you as huge homeland and residence. Has nothing special like quests or entounters, but has very beautiful design and great just to explore and make screenshots if you like this.
The Shire Obviously and definitely not lore-friendly, but beautiful new land/quest mod with original worldspace design influenced by LOTR/Hobbit titles.
Namira for Good Guys Play a trick on Namira! Complete Namira's quest "The Taste of Death" without sacrificing a priest to Cannibals.
Following Mercer - A Thieves Guild Quest So, what did Mercer do with all the stuff he took from the vault? He stored it in his various hideouts all over Skyrim, of course. Now you get to track it all down!
Innocence Lost Alternative Are you playing as a good hero in Skyrim and want to destroy the Dark Brotherhood, but you refuse to kill Grelod for Aventus, no matter how nasty she is? Well this mod allows you to report it to the guards for them to arrest her.
Molag Bal's Inferno Winner of Reddit Skyrim dungeon competition. Amazing, exciting, atmospheric! Mod is a multi-level dungeon mod that takes place in a hellish Daedric realm, featuring 8 new dungeons complete with enemies, bosses, special rewards, and an overarching quest.
The Lost Wonders of Mzark Amazingly atmospheric quest/dungeon mod for those who prefer a more puzzle-oriented game. The enemies you encounter within must be disposed of in careful ways, and you'll find more than just fights awaiting you in the depths of Mzarnumez. - 4 new fully voiced quests. - Huge, non-linear dungeon. - New enemies, weapons and spells. - New robe sets and special secret artifact.
Windcallers Pass Great dungeon mod. It’s less fighting, more about exploring and finding best way to go through and this is its best feature.
The Secret of Dragonhead Amazing, dark, greatly designed and challenging. Dungeon mod from famous mod author. Absolutely must-play!
Heimfeigr The‘Hall of the Dead’. Beautiful and challenging dungeon mod. Immersive puzzles, a lot of enemies and tough custom bosses will give you an amazing time of playthrough.
Forgotten Dungeons Mod adds 49 new radiant-quest enabled dungeons in Skyrim. Great design, tonns of enemies. All sizes - from little to huge. This mod will give you dozens of hours to explore. There's also an improved version of it available - but not it's only an "ALL" version, meaning if you don't have DLCs or don't want all dungeons included, then use one of original mod versions.
Hammet's Dungeon Packs Another great dungeon pack currently having 24 new dungeons in Skyrim and Soltheim. Dungeons in this pack are mostly oriented on high-level characters with level 40 and higher. Radiant-quest enabled. Some of dungeons contain new items and spellbooks.
The Rabbit Hole It’s just amazing and really unique dungeon mod! In my opinion it’s criminally underrated and absolutely must-play. Mod adds dungeon system, a ‘rabbit hole’ with 50!! levels with progressing difficulty. Also many secrets and hidden rooms to discover. Have fun!
‘Inferno’ trilogy: First part Second part Third part 3 amazing mods inspired by Dark Souls. Interesting storylines ‘hellish’ cells, gigantic and hard bosses. You’ll remember this journey for sure!

Skyrim Underground One of the most amazing dungeon mods I've ever played! An underground dungeon system with currently 40 large and 26 small cells. Tunnels are connecting different Skyrim cities. Also constantly updated. Amazing design, dark atmosphere, tonns of new, creepy creatures to fight and just HUGE size in total. In my opinion, this mod is absolutely must-have. If you'll be exploring it really carefully, you can even stumble upon several NPCs voiced by your humble :)
Demonika VERY dark. VERY creepy. Full of enemies. Dungeon mod with 12 stages. This mod may even scare someone, it’s not for everyone. But if you like such kind of creepy playthrough - try it for sure!
Solstheim Dungeon Pack Simple, but great dungeon mod. Designed especially for Solstheim. Adds 6 new dungeons to diversify your solstheim exploration experience.
Isle of Ashes Awesome and very original mod. Features: Great design. Complicated puzzles to solve and secrets to find. Different greatly designed cells, enemies and bosses. Really unique atmosphere. It’s main feature is there are no quests or markers here. You need to find journals, you need to read, you need to think. Playthrough is very rewarding, in the meaning of exploring first of all.
Moonshimmer Mine Medium-sized dungeon mod which takes the player on an adventure through an recently abandoned mine and unearthed Dwemer ruins.
Solemn Keep Chronicles - Shimmerfall Springs Bandits from all around Skyrim have been gathering and digging out the once abandoned caves of Shimmerfall Springs, causing local concern. Venture deep into the caves to find what they are seeking and stop the mysterious bandit leader who wields a dangerous power. Also take a look on patches for it.
EasierRider's Dungeon Pack A hidden gem in family of dungeon packs, with incredibly level design. Adds 7 new, lore-friendly dungeons around Skyrim. Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLCs required.
Moonshimmer Mine Moonshimmer Mine introduces a medium-sized dungeon: Moonshimmer Mine & Athurhumz' Tomb. Adding about 30 minutes of gameplay, it takes the player on an adventure through an recently abandoned mine and unearthed Dwemer ruins. Will you stand against the plans of Thalmor agents?
Red Flame One of the best dungeon mods I've ever played. A vampire-themed dungeon featuring original music, Deirge Cathedral lies off of the coast of Skyrim's northern shore. A mass of stone and stained glass, the mod features two new foods for vampires, a Molag Bal blessing, a unique Gargoyle summon spell, and three weapons.
Orange Moon A Hircine-themed Dwemer dungeon from the same author. Katumz lies just north of Shor's Stone and was the seat of astronomical research. A mass of gears and pipes, the mod features a new ingredient and nine animated Dwemer weapons with unique enchantments.
The Midden - Expanded A quality dungeon and house mod that greatly expands the College Midden, with minimal changes to existing areas. A new lore-friendly player home serves as a hub for new dungeons. 100% compatible with Immersive College of Winterhold.
Iomaungandr Rising Travel to the Sea of Ghosts in search of a long-lost Greybeard proving ground.
Dwemer Network Adds doors to all Dwemer/Dwarven ruins in Skyrim and Solstheim, allowing you to travel to and from Blackreach. Also allows you to revisit Skuldafn and Japhet's Folly.
Temple of Kruziik Temple of Kruziik is an ancient temple built by a cult of Nords worshiping the dragon Kruziik (meaning 'ancient' in the dragon language). Inside the temple you will find evidence of the Nord's worship and an ancient defender of the artifacts deep inside the temple.
Tramp's Rest -- A Tribute A medium-sized dungeon and a homage to the early days of D&D, especially the visuals of David Trampier, David C. Sutherland III, Erol Otus, and others. There's a new location, new creatures, new items, and new spells.
Skjolga's Basin A detailed dungeon/quest mod centered around an expedition into the Skyrim mountains. Follow the trail of Greedius Perellius and his gang in their effort to profit off of a well-hidden silver mine, in a beautiful world-space just west of Falkreath.
Dead-Stone Barrow New Nordic dungeon just north-east of Whiterun, this was made to fit as closely in with the game as possible.
Blackrain Dungeon ==NEW==A very challenging dungeon for those who are ready. Talk to the new NPC in the Sleeping Giant Inn to begin your quest.
Mysteries of the Atmorans ==NEW==Mysteries of the Atmorans is a mod intended to revamp Skyrim's nordic and atmoran ruins to give them immersive updates which make them feel less like dungeons and more like actual locations that have fallen into ruin. The mod also focuses on making the ruins more challenging, particularly the puzzles and also adds new enemies.
Sewers of Markarth ==NEW==A sewer dungeon under Markarth, occupied by poachers. But two gates block the entrance to a lower set of ruins, and who knows what dangers lurk down there to any adventurer you finds their way in?
Ogmunds Tomb ==NEW==Old-but-great, custom small-to-medium sized dungeon with a great design and moderate difficulty.
Engelmanns Rest ==NEW==Custom dungeon for Skyrim, an ancient ruin located south of Helgen, on a road that leads to Southfringe Sanctum. From the author of mod above.
Sondenheim ==NEW==An archaeological expedition sought the treasures of Sondenheim, the subterranean citadel. This being Skyrim, their adventure naturally ended in tragedy, and the survivors warn against setting foot inside the ruin. However, they weren't Dragonborn, so go ahead and pillage the tomb for fun and profit.
Ahbiilok ==NEW==A series of dungeons that will take you to face a legendary dragon, all of them converge in a small worldspace for you to explore.
Shalidor's Migrant Portals ==NEW==Adds a new dungeon to the Labyrinth which becomes available to explore once you've completed Shalidor's Maze. Inside is a small chamber with a new boss battle and a reward of a collection of portal stones allowing for instantaneous travel across large distances.
Caverns Of Chaos ==NEW==Head to the North East of Korvanjund. Gather your followers and come prepared for a grand adventure!
Yellow King ==NEW==A Nord ruin unearthed by the Thalmor, Hahdrim's Tomb lies in between Dragon's Bridge and Rorikstead. The resting place of a cursed king and his family, the mod features an original weapon with a unique enchantment, armor, and shield.
Cooleoj profile ==NEW==For a few nice overhauls for vanilla dungeons. Plugins themselves are small and simply and work just fine in LE - download archive manually, add to mod manager and install as usual.
For these mods, you can install as many as you want, technially but if mod that you're installing is affecting leveled lists, be sure to rebuild your Bashed Patch. Also take into account that leveled lists have own limitations in size, so it's not a good idea to install 5 biggest weapon packs at the same time, because most likely you'll never see many of items ingame even with Bashed Patch. Choose one or two big weapon/armor packs and polish this by several smaller mods you like. It's literally impossible to list absolutely all great mod of this category here as there are hundreds or even thousands of such mods, so that's just mostly my personal list of mods that are either beautiful and lore-friendly, or I admire them for really unique look and/or great textures quality. Still, there are many mods here that improves or rebalances vanilla items or add new, but absolutely immersive ones.
Armor, weapon & artifacts mods that I'm using in my own modded setup:
Immersive Armors The most famous, big and endorsed armor pack ever made.It adds hundreds of various armors, from simple to absolutely epic, while still keeping lore-friendly look. If you're looking for the great base of your armors variety - don't even think, install IA. Also you may be interested in UNP/CBBE "refit" addon for it or realistic looktexture replacer ==NEW==.
Tribunal Robes and Masks Amazing robes pack that in addition comes in all 3 armor types - clothing, light and heavy. Also have masks collection for even more epic look. Note: this mod is included in Immersive Armors, so if you're using IA, don't install it separetely.
Bosmer Armor Pack A lore friendly Armor pack containing 5 main sets with 29 armor pieces and 6 weapon pieces. All races and sexes supported. Note: this mod is included in Immersive Armors, so if you're using IA, don't install it separetely.
ARMONIZER Armors Pack Very old but still very good mod that adds various unique-looking, but still fitting armors to the game.
Girl's Heavy Armors Fresh and original armor mod that changes models of female vanilla heavy armors, making them much more beautiful, but still protective/lore-friendly, keeping the great balance.
Common Clothes and Armors Mod combines many vanilla and modded assets in order to create a lot of variations to regular clothing or armor sets for generic NPCs. Adds over 130 new clothes and armors to the common people of Skyrim.
Improved closefaced helmetsSo that the eyes are visible from the outside. Downside of the mod is compatibility - plenty of popular armor replacers have compatibility patches for it, but not in all cases. So just use carefully if you're planning to.
Unplayable Faction Armors This mod adds armor and weapons for some of the unjoinable factions in Skyrim. Two files are provided, one version which distributes these sets to their respective factions and allows crafting, and a standalone version that allows crafting only.
Nordic Crusader Armour Adds badass-looking Nordic Crusader Armour and Greatsword for crafting. Requires the Steel Smithing Perk.
Kynreeve Armor Craftable set of daedric style armor, available in light and heavy.
NSK13 profile Be sure to check it for many amazingly beautiful, mostly female armors (but Daedric Reaper armor is for both genders, for example). All of these armors are definitely not lore-friendly, but if that's not scaring you - grab some of them for sure.
Zerofrost Mythical Armors and Dragon The latest armor mod pack from Zerofrost and that has definitely the absolutely amazing armors - for male, female and both genders. Nightingale Prime armor also has replacer version for vanilla nightingale set.
Warmonger Armory New lore friendly Armors, Weapons and Clothes for both Vanilla Game and DLCs. All the added content is inspired from the classic Elder Scrolls Archetypes and is made with compatibility in mind.
Aesir Armor One of the most brutal lore-friendly armor sets I ever seen, with dozens of customization options.
Volkihar Knight - Vampire Armor A lore-friendly and badass-looking set of heavy vampire armor. Three variations can be crafted, each with a unique effect that is applied once wearing all four pieces. Note: sad thing is it's not compatible with Sacrosant by default, so if you want to use them both give Sacrosanct bigger load order priority (but one of armor features will be disabled).
Zzjay's wardrobe Collection of various armor and clothes mashups, also has decent amount of civil-looking ones.
Guards Armor Replacer Immersive mod for all city guards, from the author of previous mod. There's also addon ==NEW== which adds these armors to guards after civil war ends. Note: if you want to properly build bashed patch with this mod (simply loading it after bashed as per mod author instruction can lead to guards missing effects from other mods if you have any), generate the next Bash Tags for the mod: Delev, Invent, Names and Relev. Same applies for other similar mods of this author.
Armor Variants Expansion ==NEW==Armor Variants Expansion aim to adjust and increase variety of armors on Skyrim, by add new armors to some vanilla and usual armor category trying to be closest to the lore friendly definition. Note: you'll need to convert meshes for LE usage - download mod manually, unzip the archive, convert meshes (how to - look in FAQ/Stability section of graphics guide), zip the files back, add archive to mod manager, install.
Liam's Armoured Mage Robes ==NEW==Adds enchanted and unenchanted armoured robes for each school of magic along with necromancy robes and normal armoured robes. They can be crafted at the Tanning Rack or Blacksmith Forge.
Legendary Armory Pretty unique armor mod that adds new armors, but combined only from various vanilla meshes, with really beautiful results.
Black Mage Armor Black Mage Armor is a standalone armor mod that includes Cloth, Light, and Heavy armor sets that are all craftable, enchantable, and upgradable; all sets can be used by every race, male or female.
Ritual Armor of Boethiah Gloomy and simply epic-looking light armor set. Note: this mod is included in Immersive Armors, so if you're using IA, don't install it separetely.
Petal Gasmask ==NEW==Obviously not lore-friendly, but just so beautiful it would be a sin to not add it here. Adds a beautiful cyberpunk flower gasmask to your game.
Lore Weapon Expansion My personal favourite between all big weapon packs. Varietive but not too big and with qualitative textures for each weapons without exceptions. And what is good, it's really lore-friendly. Make sure to check out author's profile - he has over 20 more amazing, beautiful and highly lore-friendly standalone weapon mods.
Unique Uniques A mod from previous mod author that makes unique weapons look really unique.
Immersive Weapons The biggest weapon pack ever. Enourmous variety of weapons. This may act as a subjective disadvantage - some people don't want so much (as some weapons are looking not very immersive actually), but it's all a matter of taste. Be sure to grab USLEEP patch for it.
Heavy Armory - New Weapons One of my favourite wepon packs as well. This mod adds nearly 100 new weapons to Skyrim. You will find all new Halberds, Spears, Glaives, Shortswords, Quarter staves, Mauls, Hatchets and Clubs. Don't forget to grab a DSR patch for it.
Royal Armory - New Artifacts A must-have mod. Adds special weapons to the most important characters in Skyrim with unique effects and appearance. This may sound very simply, but it really changes the way you will look on many quests and NPCs - because now they will be a more than worthy targets. Don't forget to grab model improvements for it (it also adds DSR compatibility).
Legendary Skyrim Crossbows Amazing mod that adds dozens of new crossbows, some bows and unique arrows/bolts to the game. Crossbows have very qualitative models.
Scoped Bows Simple, but brilliant mod that adds scopes to all vanilla bows making them look much more epic.
Johnskyrim profile ==NEW== Check this amazing author profile for stunningly beautiful weapons mods, mostly inspired by Wolrd of Warcraft and some other games. If you don't cave much about "lore-friendliness", many of his mods may be a must-have for you.
The Munich ==NEW==It's a hand and a half sword (aLonger...longsword), based on the design from Albion Swords.
Penobscot War Bow ==NEW==Adds a new craftable and temperable bow. It can be upgraded at a forge/anvil changing its appearance and increasing its stats according to the materials required for each upgrade.
Radzig Longsword This standalone sword mod is maybe literally the best work on weapon meshes and textures I ever saw in my life. For real. The level of deatils is not even incredible, it's look just impossible. Take a look yourself.
Lorkhan Moonlight Greatsword Reborn A legendary sword from Dark Souls series in several unique variatins, with custom meshes and visual effects. I also strongly recommend you to check out this author's other weapon mods, mostly inspired by DS as well.
Both weapons and armors, new artifacts or vanilla artifacts improvements, jewels, collectibles etc:
Artifact overhauls covering a lot of items - mods improving/adding new effects of game's unique weapons, armors and other special items. If you will be wanting so really much, you can combine them - but this will require some work in xEdit, so in most of cases it's recommended to choose one.
Zim's Immersive Artifacts A great collection of improved/new effects for huge amount of unique armors/weapons/items. It improves and rebalances really a lot of unique named items in the game, finally making them worth to hunt for and keep even at high levels and not thworing them to trash bin insantly after you found your first dragonbone weapon or daedric armor.
Reliquary of Myth - Artifact Overhaul ==NEW==A fresh and constantly updated artifacts overhaul released in 2020 - and hugely underrated one. Atm, it already covers more artifacts than Zim's mod, which was a go-to artifacts overhauls for most of players for years. Reliquary puts the soul in each artifact, making most of them actually unique, and great not for roleplay only, but to greatly spice up character builds. Lastly, it comes with a nifty FOMOD installer which has a lot of patches for popular mods (you can merge all of them safely, just don't merge the mod itself). Since it was released, it's my personal pick and I strongly recommend to at least try it. You can also see my review of it here.
Thane Weapons Reborn Similar mod from the Legacy of the Dragonborn author which is focusing on thane rewards only, making the really unique. This one can be used with the mods listed above without issues. You can also install the patch (look in files section) from this patches collection to remove the minor incompatibility.
Fulcimentum - More Staves and Wands of Skyrim ==NEW==Add 9 wands and 9 staves, each with a shield of the same shape. All the staves can be made at the smithing forges. The staves is fully compatible with the vanilla staff enchantment system and is also available for higher level characters. Has patches for Apocalypse, Arcanum and DSR.
Skyrim Knights 2018 Edition Adds over 60 robed steel plate armor variants to the game. Variant for each hold with color and logo, as well as factions, in Dwemer, Robed Steel Plate, Orichalcum, Ebony, and Dragonsteel. Shields and weapons included.

Skyrim modding stage is litereally swarmed by follower mods, the vastly majority of which are really dull and simply briefly imported racemenu presets with nothing more. That's why I decided I can't skip this part and show you some really worthy follower mods - interesting, funny, badass, with own temper and/or unique look, background stories and personal questlines and so on. Using mods from this section you will be sure your companions are not only "I'm sworn to carry your burdens".
Extensible Follower Framework First of all, grab this mod if you will ever play with followers. It's amazing and complex mod that adds many features to skan, control, equip your followers, give them much more commands, teleport to you if they are stuck or lost and much, much more. With a cool UI in addition! Note: take into account that some complex follower mods, line INIGO, for example, are not compatible with EFF. That doesn't mean your game will crash or something. They just mostly have own customized controls system, so just use it and don't try to manage them with EFF, otherwise they may act weird. Another note: EFF has UIExtensions included, so don't install this mod if you need it, but will use EFF. Also take a look on this little patches collection, enhanced wheelMenu ==NEW== for it and this tiny fix ==NEW==. [or] Nether's Follower Framework An alternative to previous mod, without many features of it, but with some of own unique features.
My Home is Your Home (MHiYH 2plus) This mod will be useful as well if you like to play with many followers or just to have many of them in overall and choose different companions from time to time.
Follower Death and Injury Chance - Followers Can Die ==NEW==This mod allows for followers to die and get injuries resulting from battles. The chances are quite low, but it will keep the game fresh and allow for more interesting experiences and narratives when it happens. Quite an essential mod for those who prefer balanced game with realism touch.
INIGO The one brave khajiit to rule them all. The one companion to pun them all. In my opinion, Inigo, while having not the numerically biggest amount of endorsments, is the best follower mod ever made. If you never liked to play with followers and even if you hate followes/follower mods in principle, Inigo will change that once and forever after just a couple of hours played together with him. Or maybe even after a few minutes. Inigo is a fully voiced khajiit adventuring companion with over seven thousands lines of unique dialogue - much of it about you. He doesn't just have some "on-call phrase" - he reacts on everything and everyone around you. He will comment, he will sing, he will scream, he will joke and he will troll. Both you and your followers as well. Inigo is one of those mods that make you give a complete new look on the game. Also, you may be interested in MCM addon for him for better control and customization, as well as in optional visual change.
Sofia - The Funny Fully Voiced Follower "The infamous Sofia needs little introduction as she causes trouble across Skyrim". And that's all about her. The very original, funny and sarcastic follower voiced by professional voice actress. Sofia is quite an unusual follower. She is tough, witty and just a little bit boastful. She has a strong fondness for the player character but her deliberate attempts to disguise the fact just leads to very awkward conversations especially as she usually says exactly what she thinks. Sofia is a tease and loves to wind people up which doesn’t make her very popular with people. Her rebellious spirit and careless attitude often gets her in trouble. Not to mention her constant inappropriate comments which easily offend or embarrass people. You may be also interested in this ==NEW== (my preference) or this ==NEW== visual addons for her.
Arissa - The Wandering Rogue Arissa is an Imperial with an independent, rebellious spirit and a gift for making expensive things disappear. She is a Skyrim companion character with over 600 lines of dialogue voiced by professional voice actress. She has own questline, touching and funny at the same time.
Vilja in Skyrim One of the most endorsed (well deserved) follower mods as well. Greatly done from all aspects, Vilja doesn't only have her own agenda - she also has her hopes and visions, her thoughts and opinions, and a background story that she will share with you over time.
Improved Follower Dialogue - Lydia ==NEW==This mod doesn't just give Lydia a new voice - it adds over 350 lines of dialogue to make her an actually interesting character and major part of the main quest. Absolutely must have if you're using her as a follower.
M'rissi's Tails of Troubles Half-khajiit, half-human. Meet M'rissi and decide your own role in her life. Will you be a slaver, a saviour or a lover? That's for you to decide. Fully-voiced thrilling personal questline will also give you decent amount of enjoyable hours. There's also an optional visual replacer available and a patch ==NEW== for Inigo.
Acalypha - Fully voiced follower Stunningly beautiful and seductive demoness follower with AMAZING voice acting, I'd say, one of the best voice acting I ever heard in overall. With personal questline in addition. If you like her, be sure to check out other mods of this author.
Hoth Brutal warrior companion with unique voice and amazing visual customization.
Xanthys - A Custom Voiced Skeleton Pyromancer Follower Xanthys is badass. But you know what? He is also skeleton! Looking as a heavy-metal band leader from the depths of hell, he has own questline, a lot of unique functions and simply amazing voice acting, making him one of the most unique followers ever existed.
Companion Valfar The ultimate Stormcloak. Fully voiced, hairy, intoxicated and ever happy to bash some Elf skulls in!
Lucien - Fully Voiced Follower The best companion mod released in last 2 years, Lucien is a fully voiced Imperial follower with over 2400 lines of immersive, lore-friendly dialogue. Though he arrives in Skyrim as a cowardly scholar, he'll gradually gain strength and confidence by your side until he grows into a hero in his own right. It's an amazing follower mod, almost on pair with top-notch quality like Inigo - and he talks to Inigo and many other followers as well during your travels. There are also a visual raplacers for him here and here.
Aurlyn Dawnstone - The Reclusive Philosopher Aurlyn is a custom-voiced Aldmer Dawn Sorceress companion mod for Skyrim with well over a thousand lines of dialogue, advanced commentary on most notable locations, a fully-fledged array of relationship dialogue that reflects your actions, and dynamic reactions to the choices you make throughout the game, from completing grand questlines to helping
Companions and Followers Adds 12 different adventurers to Skyrim which you can hire as companion, each with their own specialization. Instead of sticking them in a corner, they travel randomly to multiple locations across Skyrim, attacking bandit camps and forts, resting at empty locations and friendly shacks and relaxing at Inns and Cities. Great filler even if you don't want followers.
Dividedbythe9s profile Check out this author profile for dozens of follower mods. These follower don't have custom va or personal storylines, but each of them has really unique visuall appearance, often even transforming him/her self into something completely different.
Aumriel - The Pale Lady ==NEW==The Pale Lady, or Aumriel as she was called in life, has been sealed away deep inside a crypt for thousands of years. Once you defeat her twisted form and release her from her curse, her spirit will be set free and might be seen wandering Hjaalmarch at night.
The Dark Brotherhood Initiates ==NEW==This mod is a complete overhaul for the Dark Brotherhood Initiates. An individual personality, combat techniques, and fully voiced characters. Initiates worthy of the Listener. You can also grab this beautiful visual overhaul for them from Pandorable. Note: if using "The Real Dark Brotherhood" mod, load this mod after it.
Livia Salvian - Daughter of the High Chancellor ==NEW==Livia Salvian is the daughter of the High Chancellor of the Empire. Voiced by the voice actress of Mirai, she has over 500 dialogue lines. She is an honorable and strong soldier who likes singing, and joins your journey for a very specific reason. Can be married. A visual overhaul is also available.
Rxkx22 profile Check out the well-known "Bijin" series author for several follower mods - nothing special in them in meaning of voice acting or personal quests, but same as with Bijin series, they all are really beautiful, on the edge between stunningly beautiful and realistic appearance.
Kamira - A Fully Voiced Companion Beauitul (not lore-friendly/skimpy armor, but that can be changed if you don't like it) and sarcastic, fully-voiced female follower with short personal quest. Author is currently working on the update that will bring a much more longer questline.

Player home is absolutely a matter of taste - size, style of design, features - that's all up to you, so here I've just listed a wide "base" of various beautiful and qualitative mods of this type to choose from. I'll gradually expand it - so feel free to suggest :)
Unlimited Bookshelves First of all, grab this essential mod - it does exactly how it's named and will be very useful for you, as it's compatible with modded homes as well.
Elianora profile That's with no doubts a first profile you may want to look at when it comes to player homes. Elianora is a godess of player homes, simple as that. She is specializing mostly on small and cozy player homes of absolutely various styles - so in her profile you most likely will find a mod for no matter what character type you are playing as.
Riverside Lodge Useful, beautiful, lore-friendly and with a great view on Whiterun hold. One of my favourite player home mods on Nexus.
Legend of the Eagles Nest A fortress with amazing level of details and with everything you may need in player home, located in snowy mountains between Riverwood and Whiterun. It also contains a questline to rebuild it to proper glory.
Tel Nalta II - Telvanni Home One of the most original player home mods ever made, but simple and lore-friendly at the same time. Similar to Hearthfire gameplay, you need to construct this glorious telvanii catle, but to tell more precise - to grow it. Besides being unique, big and having everything you need for your game, it also has various bonuses like pool, greenhouse, fish hatchery, catacombs, new NPCs and so on.
Caranthir Tower Reborn While designed for a mage character initially, this amazing magic tower can actually serve as an epic base for anyone (but ofc without magic skills at all it will be very hard to complete its questline). Yes-yes, questline. It's not just a tower - it's like a complete new world inside it. It offers features never seen before, customisation, and is more than just a player home. The tower must be restored through a Hearthfire style crafting system or you can simply purchase everything you need. This mod is also based heavily around player choice.
Aemer's Refuge One of my personal favourites between various player home mods. A big keep located high in mountains, with a lot of unique features, but what is the most important - unlike many other (even pretty popular) player home mods, each, even the tiniest details and clutter piece in this mod is placed exactly where it should be - and while being pretty huge, this keep is looking absolutely great with each detail on its own place.
Leaf Rest An interactive & customizable home located in the town of Riverwood. It contains a full forge & crafting area, along with some unique features including: an interactive gardening system, a wood burning fireplace, quick access bookshelves, business ledger trading system, & more. The entrance faces towards the west, overlooking the river. There's also Blowing in the Wind patch ==NEW==.
Morskom Estate This mod is a large player home with one purpose in mind; to provide a unique home in Skyrim that you the player must build. You will have a bare old house up in Dawnstar which you purchase and rennovate. The home includes support for your family and has more than enough storage for you hoarders out there.
Jaggarsfeld A unique little house hidden in a beautiful valley. Can be great for Hircine fans.
Dread Prison An own PRISON as player home/base? Yes! Definitely not even close to be cozy and comfortable, but definitely the one of the most original player home mods. Take people to prison to torture them or make gladiator fights and enjoy your power. Yes, you can jail and torture Nazeem. That's a must-have.
Knights of the Garter Amazing castle mod inspired by medieval times, with everything needed, new armors, weapons, and custom heraldry.
Northern Cardinal Add a unique medium-sized ship named Northern Cardinal as player home/guild base with crew system and fast travel system. The mod also comes with new quests, new dock locations, new npcs, new worldspace, new dungeon, new weapon and more.
The Asteria Dwemer airship as a player home? Now you can have that :)
Hunter's Cabin of Riverwood This mod original part is its size. Small cabin with minimalistic interior design - to have a rest and eat, located near riverwood with a great view on the town.
Raven Castle Huge (really huge), dark, ambient castle in gothic style located in its own worldspace. Will fit great any vampire/necromancer/warlock characters.
The Shrouded Lair - A Vampire Home A castle of pocket realms in your own plane of oblivion for your vampire or any evil character and followers. Mod has simply and amazing interior design fitting the vampire character greatly. Also install this expansion/fix addon for it.
Castle Volkihar Rebuilt Mostly never take as player home/base by players, not it can actually be. This mod allows the player to clean up the debris and rebuild Castle Volkihar to its former glory. The North Tower is also converted into a player home with safe storage.
The Ravens Breezehome My personal favourite Breezehome overhaul. If you're using ASLAL from Arthmoor, don't forget this patch for it.
Nevah's Keep Middle-to-large very detailed and unique-styled player home with a lots of storages and places to rest.
Druid's Den - Collectors Edition This mod is a fairly large nature-themed, very "friendly" in design meaning player home with new custom display mechanics for collectors and treasure hunters. It's located on a mountain slope just outside Whiterun with breathtaking view of the countryside.
Ebongrove - Recall and Teleport Player home in the volcanic Eastmarch, its flora thriving under a dwemer sun. Teleport to all the main cities, and recall anytime thanks to the previous owners' magic experiments. All usual features of a home, and a bit of Dunmer lore.
Crystal Creek Mansion Beautifully designed middle-sized mansion near Pinewatch, with unique look and some custom features in addition. You'll like the guardian for sure :)
Cliffside Cottage Exterior house in the Tamriel worldspace with space for 6 kids (optional), 2-5 followers, and displays for all unique items (also optional). Compatible with Frostfall. Clean, comfortable and "bright" design.
Pinecrest Estate Multiple adoption friendly player home with no loading doors and see-through windows - watch your kids playing in the yard from inside your home! Room for 6 kids and 9 followers, all vanilla crafting stations, named storage, 23 planting soils, bookshelves and custom displays for all unique items. It's located in own worldspace, has really unique design to say at least and it has no loading screen to enter it. Note: if you liked this and 2 previous mods, don't forget to check out this author profile in general, as he has much more player home mods.
Terra Umbra - Mobile Floating Island One of the most creatively-made player home mods I ever used. An incredible player home for master Alteration mages. New spells found on a corpse near Alftand allow you to raise a portion of the dwemer ruins, including one of the ruined towers. This tower can then be moved to any part of Skyrim, if you have the will to move it.
The Scarlett - A Buildable Ship The Scarlett is a large buildable ship mod with over 200 build options to choose from, featuring two small quests and a new unique location.
Rayek's End Expanded ==NEW==A reworked version of a popular player home mod. A small, detailed, atmospheric hideout off the beaten path between Riverwood and Whiterun. If you don't mind getting your boots wet, the sound of waterfalls, and prefer a darker hidden place to kick up your feet and drop off your loot...this may be the home for you.
LC_Build Your Noble House Complex and unique mod. It will give you the chance to build your own noble fiefdom with your own hands. You will only start with a small shed and a tent, but in time you build a whole village and your own fortified noble house. Each building will yield revenue and produce materials that will be deposited daily in your shed.
Hermit's Stump Magical and beautiful. A small house in Morrowind style. Hermit's Stump is located in the marvelous Hermit's Cave near the Hillgrund's Tomb (On the way to Ivarstead).
AHO - Dwemer Ship AHO - Aetherium Hyperspace Observatory - is a large mobile player house, in Dwemer style. It is a stand-alone player home mod in case you don't have Project AHO quest mod itself (which I personally strongly recommend).
Riverwood Keep A modest castle located in Riverwood, compatible with Hearthfire multiple adoptions and follower friendly.
Ruska - Riften Player Home A small and cozy cabin near Riften. Tons of custom storage, display and clutter, garden, all crafting stations.
Knight's Rest A smaller castle located near Shor's Stone. lots of displays for unique items, follower friendly and compatible with Hearthfire multiple adoptions.
Mixwater Retreat - A River Abode A gorgeous riverside cottage built on a tiny island near two waterfalls. Comes with named and linked storage and a variety of interactive features, such as a re-locking door and interactive map.
Aetherial Palace Aetherial Palace is a Dwemer styled player home that is made for the end-game players and can be assessed at any level if you have dwarven smithing perk.
Fleetford ==NEW==Fleetford is a player home within an inn and a full surrounding settlement complete with traders, followers etc. The location is between Whiterun and Windhelm (by Darkshade and Cradlecrush Rock).
Serenity - player house ship ==NEW==Small player house built inside a ship. Can be taken to Windhelm, Solitude and Dawnstar. Only vanilla Skyrim required. Plenty of storage and display space. Cozy and unique interiors.
Restoring the Aretino Residence ==NEW==Fix and upgrade the Aretino residence into a proper (player) home! Invite Aventus to return home! Give Sofie a warm place to sleep - or just use it for yourself. Fully voiced quest with 12 possible upgrade options.
Millwater Retreat ==NEW==Millwater Retreat is a player home situated on the edge of lake Ilinalta. It’s been left in a broken state after plans to restore it went sideways. Uncover the mystery of this old mill and build it back up into a profitable business with the help of a few labourers.
Corners of Skyrim ==NEW==Ever felt that a few areas of Skyrim are a little empty? Ever feel that a little something was supposed to be there in a particularly bland area? Ever want a little something to spice up those empty areas? Then this mod is for you, giving small immersively blended hideouts.
Combat & stealth, perks & spells, AI & animations, creatures & factions. Different overhauls and improvements - everything that affects your game variety and difficulty. Before installing the rest, let's do this. Don't be afraid. Do this. Now :) Remember one main rule: NEVER overwrite XPMSE. These pack of mods will make your character movement and animations look amazing, Each movement will be much more smoother and you'll be able to add any type of custom character animation. But before we proceed, an answer on question that bothers many players:
HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR GAME CAN HANDLE MORE SCRIPT-HEAVY MODS?
To test if your game overloaded with scripts or not, is very easy.When you are like starting to feel you have plenty of gameplay mods already, and not sure if your game can handle something like Frostfall, or two more combat mods etc - don't worry. Install them. Then, launch your game and make NEW SAVE. While you'll be testing the game, save ONLY on that slot. Now, go and force game to script-heavy situations. Go and fight bandits in some polulated fort, visit few big cities, run here and there. Visit locations with stormy weathers, and ofc, make actions that are depending on the mod you have just installed (like, build the camp if it's Frostfall, or change your clothings several times etc).
Game running fine? No stutters in combat or actions, no crashes? (Exactly stutters - short-time game freezes, not the regular fps drops). Great! You're good to go. Stutters/crashes appear in combat, populated cities, during certain scripted actions? Nope. This mod is overloading your game - skip it.
And don't forget to delete the "test" save after. Note: starting from guide version 3.0, many script-heavy mods are marked with special mark, to save your time spent for testing.
Here, you first will need to choose between 2 mods (rather, frameworks) - FNIS or Nemesis. Both are mods for custom animations and absolutely must-have, as they are required for most of animation mods to work. What to pick?
FNIS is the older one, which was basically the only for many years. It's now abandoned, but that doesn't mean it became bad due to this - it's working perfectly fine, but it has less capabilities (and namely, supports less animation mods, especially new ones).
Nemesis is a successor to FNIS which is more capable and supports much more mods FNIS didn't. It's also being supported and updated actively. Why not just to remove FNIS then if Nemesis is better in everything? Indeed it is, but technically Nemesis is still in beta atm - it works flawlessly thought and it's absolutely safe to use it, but for now both will still be linked. Choice is up to you, but once again, for best results it's strongly recommended to get Nemesis. Usage is very plain and simple for both of them.
Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS Basic installation: - Install FNIS Behavior V6_3 - Install Creature Pack V5_3 (optional, necessary for creature animation mods) - Install FNIS Idle Spells V5_0_1 -- ADD-ON for the spells (optional, necessary for the spells) - Good, you’ll need to do only 1 move to finish it, but it will be later.
Nemesis - Unlimited Behavior Engine ==NEW==Nemesis, a better and recommended alternative to FNIS. Link leads to file releases page on Github - just grab the latest version archive (usually the .rar file) somewhere, add this arvhive to your mod manager and install as any other mod. Bingo! DO NOT USE BOTH FNIS AND NEMESIS TOGETHER, CHOOSE ONE.
XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended - XPMSE The one and only. King of skeleton mods. Install with mod manager. Everything is simple, I also strongly recommend to NOT install anything you are not aware of. Just do the basic installation and you’ll be fine. Do NOT overwrite XPMSE after this. Never. Besides a [single] exclusion - creatures mesh mods of Rogueshot (if you already have them installed - then do not overwrite them with XPMSE). Also, keep in mind that XPMSE now has "Realistic Ragdolls and Force" included, so you don't need to install it separately. You may also be interested in this improvement texture mod for it. Note: the current latest version seems to be bugged, so if you'll have random CTDs with it, just use older version for now, until the latest mod version is fixed.
Dual Sheath Redux Why can’t you see your left-hand weapon on you? Why can’t you have shield on back? Why can’t you see your staves on you? Think no more! Install this! Just install the mod and advised mesh packs. Then run the installed Dual Sheath Redux Patch.jar located in Data/SkyProc Patchers/Dual Sheath Redux Patch Click ‘patch’. Activate mod in Skyrim Launcher/mod manager. Use patcher each time you install new armor/weapon mod.
LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons This mod is close to essential, in my humble opinion, as it makes all weapon [models] much more realistic-looking. It also has many additional options like refractive models (for glass/stalhrim weapons), better models for arrows etc. Technically it's graphics mod yes, but it's listed here as it should be installed after Dual Sheath Redux if you have it. Note: choose between this mod or the one below.
Believable Weapons ==NEW==
A freshly-released mod of a great quality, with a same goal as mod above but own approach to weapon models. Choose one or another.
Combat Gameplay Overhaul ==NEW==Freshly released, updated and in several moments absolutely revolutionary, jaw-dropping mod! CGO adds several features and fixes to combat and movement. It has responsive dodge rolls, procedural leaning, grip changing, mid-air combat, striking with staffs, dual-wielding two-handed weapons, 1st & 3rd person weapon animations, and more. It has its cons though as well - it's lack of customization of some features, and possible compatibility issues with some other animation mods. You can see my review of it here.
Now, remember the "Dynamic Animation Replacer" mod we've installed in the very beginning? Not all, but many mods below require it - and their unique functionality is possible only thanks to it.
EVG Conditional Idles ==NEW==Absolutely essential mod, as for me. Adds various animated idles that are roughly 9-13 seconds long, that only play in specific conditions, like rain, snowstorm, out of stamina etc. Such a simple functionality yet such a tremendous addition to the immersion through animations. Configurable in MCM. You can see my showcase of it here.
EVG Animation Variance ==NEW==Another mod from the same author, greatly improving another part of animations for NPCs. Adds variety to existing animations, through NPC personality types, conditions, or just randomly, making NPCs look much more alive and how it's being handled in modern AAA games. Doesn't take a plugin slot.
Movement Behavior Overhaul ==NEW==Experience realistic movement like never seen before with enhanced behaviors allowing for proper direction transitions, momentum stop, and much more! Note - LE version of the mod is in the "Miscellaneous files" section.
Jump Behavior Overhaul ==NEW==Who knew jumping could be this immersive? Get ready for brand new animations, improved behavior, and much more - with no scripts or plugins at all. Note - LE version of the mod is in the "Miscellaneous files" section.
Motion Sensitive Fix ==NEW==Remove camera sway, head bobbing and FOV zoom. For 1st and 3rd person. All animations left intact. Made for those who get motion sickness.
DAR - Onehand Melee Exhaustion ==NEW==This DAR Plugin will change human Actors one handed weapon attack-grip to its slower two handed counterpart if his Stamina fall below 33% and changes back, if its Stamina is higher then 33%.
Idle Animations WheelMenu ==NEW==Allows you select and play idle animations through a wheel menu, kind likes the "emote menu" from fallout 76, fortnite or other games. Totally contains 75 different idle animations, all animations can be easily selected and played through the wheel menu.
E3 Witcher 3 Dodge Animations ==NEW==Animations similar to the dodges shown in the e3 presentation for Witcher 3. Can be used with tk dodge and The Ultimate Dodge Mod (and obviously, require one of them - look below in combat section).
Crouch Sliding ==NEW==Adds in a crouch slide, when you're sprinting press your sneak key to perform a crouch slide, this gives you i-frames and(optionally) cause surrounding NPC's to ragdoll away from you. Works in first person as well.
Martial Arts This mod is optional. New animations for unarmed combat and jumping.
Unarmed Warfare - New Animations For Hand To Hand Combat This mod is optional. The goal of this modification is to give the player more interesting unarmed combat animations. With this modification you can combine your unarmed attacks and create better looking combat with kicks and hits. You can hit, hit and then kick and hit again. Or you can just kick, kick and kick or hit and so on.
EAD - Every Attack Different Animation pack which replaces all 1h and 2h attack animations, 15 new attack animations. Flaw is sort of "double attack" animations, which can be pretty overpowered.
PCA_Arrow Attach Kit Custom bow animations package which mixed up with "Kay" bow animations which the character from online game: "Vindictus / mabinogi heroes".
Character Behaviors Enhanced This mod is optional. Unique mod that adds previously non-existing moves and animations - attacks in midair, underwater combat and so on. It's only disadvantage is no compatibility with FNIS (if you're still using it) - but on the other hand, Nemesis supports it just fine (which is just one more reason to switch). Also grab the fix ==NEW== for it.
Important! Now go to Data/tools/GenerateFNIS_for_Users and start GenerateFNISforUsers.exe. Be sure to check "skeleton arm fix" and "gender specific animation" options as well as options for any other mod you have (only if you have them!). Run it, wait a few seconds and that's it - you did it! Note: run GenerateFNISforUsers.exe each time you have installed or removed any FNIS-related mod.
Nemesis patcher is file named "Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine.exe" in \Data\Nemesis_Engine. Run the file, tick on options to receive support for mods (if you have those) and click on "Update Engine" (marked as "1" here). Wait until it's finished (usually it takes just a few seconds), close the window and now click on "Launch Nemesis Behavior Engine" (marked as "2" here). Wait until it finishes (this can take couple of minutes depending on your PC specs and mod list) and close the windows. Good job, done! Make sure to run patcher in the same way each time you installed (or uninstalled) mods that are affecting animations.

Animallica - Skyrim Wildlife Overhaul I have no idea how I missed adding this mod in the initial 2.0 release. Silly me. Deadly Dragons Most popular dragons mod at Nexus. Adds 14 new dragons and unique skills to them. Adds amazing dragon ‘assault’ system. Via MCM menu you can configure dragons stats - health, damage and much more. Must-have one. Also install this small, but amazing patch that fixes some bugs in mod.
Diverse Dragons Collection 3 Amazing mod that adds 28 new beautiful dragons to game, with 7 ranks for each dragon type, 16 new breath attacks and 19 new abilities. Greatly configurable MCM menu. Compatible with all dragon mods. My personal recommendation - it’s a great addition for other dragons mods.
Chaos Dragons Mod adds 45 new unique dragons to game. It’s similar to Deadly Dragons, but much less lore-friendly. It’s compatible with Dragon Combat Overhaul and Ultimate Dragons BUT not compatible with Deadly Dragons itself so you’ll need to choose.
Dragons Dawn Pretty underrated mod that adds over 60 new types of dragons, with new abilities and dispersed through the leveled lists.
Splendor - Dragon Variants Simply a must-have mod, no matter which your "dragon" mod setup is. Drastically increases the visual diversity of enemy dragons, while using only vanilla resources, ending with 784 possible combinations. Fully compatible with other dragon mods
OBIS - Organized Bandits In Skyrim Definitely best bandits mod. It adds amazing variety of bandits (about 2500!! in total), dozens of bandit factions. Bandits are groupped, positioned, have unique skills and improved AI. There are also optional plugins, for example, plugin that will add bandit raids around the towns and villages. My personal recommendation. Also make sure to install facegen file. Note: don't use OBIS and Immersive Patrols togehter - while being 100% stable and great mods themselves, when used together, sooner or later they cause a game-breaking bug when random factions start attacking you on sight with no reason. I'm personally using OBIS.
OBIS Redone Mod adds visual overhaul for OBIS bandits - outfits, weapons, unique loot and much more.
DIVERSE SKYRIM Why you never saw even a single orc in imperial legion forces? Or a women? Why hunters were only elves and humans? If you want to change this aspect of the game - not just randomly, but absolutely logical and lore-friendly - get this mod for sure. Adds hundreds of new NPC:s with unique appearences to the levelled lists for added variety and diversity while staying lore friendly. Be sure to rebuild your bashed patch after installing this mod.
MihailMods creatures Mihail is currently one of the most active mod authors at Skyrim modding stage. His productivity simply amazes. He's focused on making standalone creature mods - both lore-freindly and creatures ported from other games (Souls series, Witcher etc). He currently has over 170!! creature mods (while only around 120 are ported to SE), and ofc while not all creatures will fit your personal taste - the huge variety will always have something personally for you. There are also patches between his centaur ==NEW== mod, Thri-Kreen Warriors ==NEW== mod and Animated Armoury.
Immersive Horses Amazing and very immersive mod that offers a big improvement to vanilla horses system. Many new horses types, improved and balanced horses abilities, dozens of management options and (finally!) mounted spell casting. It's also much more new and stable than its predecessor, "Convinient Horses". Also grab this small fix.
Simple Horse A super-simple horse control mod, a great alternative if you're close to script limit and can't afford Immersive Horses.
The Four Horses of the Apocalypse Amazing mod that adds 4 "dark" mounts, with unique appearance and abilities, perfect for any dark type of character - necromancer, assassin etc. And for anyone else too :)

Thieves Guild Requirements The Thieves Guild will now only recruit other thieves. Brynjolf will no longer approach you if you are not a thief, and the Thieves Guild questline will not be activated until the player meets the necessary requirements. You can also choose to set requirements that must be met before progressing along the Thieves Guild questline.
Thieves Guild For Good Guys - Taking Care of Business Redux Amazing mod that in my opinion is how the vanilla Thieves Guild questline should have look like. Ever wanted to join the Thieves Guild without sending people to jail or bullying people for money? Want to tell Maven off? Want Mjoll to like you without having to lie to her about the Thieves Guild? Want to be a Robin Hood type thief? Now you can! This mod is also compatible with the mod above - just use the "Thieves Guild For Good Guys- Thieves Guild Requirements Version" file.
Dark Brotherhood for Good Guys Another amazing mod from the same author. Don't worry, it doesn't transform DB to group of pacifists - but gives you various alternative choices. Also don't forget to install the hotfix. Use this mod or the one below.

Trade and Barter Light-weight but great (and I'd say essential) trade mod that offers prices dependency from your faction status, NPC relationship with you, race, region and speech etiquette as well as some other cool features. Playing with it, you will really feel trading mechanics in game having sense.
Timing is Everything - Quest Delay and Timing Control Allows you to customize the starting conditions for various quests. You can choose to delay the start of Dragonborn, Dawnguard, or Hearthfire quests, as well as other quest events. Or you can also reduce the level requirements allowing a quest to start earlier than it normally would.
Hunting in Skyrim - A Hunting Guild Amazing mod for hunting roleplay. It adds hunters guild, several quests, new perks, abilities to trap animals, increased skins/pelts prices and some more features.
ABT - Arrows and Bolts Tweaks Faster arrows, ability to turn on progressive/increased damage for arrows, increase/decrease amount of arrows found in enemies and sold by merchants. Recommended base settings to pick in installer: 50% faster arrows/bolts, deeper bolt impact (per your tate), 50% less arrows/bolts recovered/in loot/in stocks.
Realistic AI Detection (better sneaking) Simple but absolutely essential mod that recalibrates sneaking, making it much more realistic. Compatible with almost everything, including lighting mods - just read the mod description page carefully to install a proper version for your mod setup. Important note: place this mod to the very bottom of your load order, making sure it's loaded after any other sneak rebalancing mods and mods that affect lighting (weather mods, lighting mods like ELFX and all its modules, etc)
Resistances Rescaled ==NEW==An alternative to the mod above, but also covering resistances. You can use both together, but then disable armor part of this mod in MCM.
Rebalanced Encounter Zones and Leveled Actors This mod drastically increases the Encounter Zone minimum and maximum of all zones in Skyrim, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn. That means more powerful enemies, more often, and better chances at the good loot. At the same time, if used with many other enemy/NPC/content mods, this one may heavily disbalance the economy and loot balance at the same time - so use with proper caution and testing.
RE - Real Estate Continued Ever wanted to be able to buy every property in the game and receive income from them? Ever wanted to become a landlord? Then this mod is for you.
Simply Balanced A combat and skill balancing tool for your game. Lightweight, customizable and compatible with everything.

Elemental Apocalypse MagicA pretty innovative mod which adds a possibility to cause visual elemental effects on slain enemies and corpses, as well as adding a magic critical hit mechanic to all kinds of elemental magic.
BorderSense Mod lets you know when you are near the borders of a hold. Optionally notifies you of your bounty in that hold.
Better Vampire NPCs Vampires now will be leveled according to the PC and get stronger with advanced perks, spells, and all new abilities. Vampires can now be many different classes: one or two handed, light armor, heavy armor, mage, light bowman, heavy crossbowman. More variety, more challenge, more fun. Load this mod after other bigger enemy overhauls like ROTE, and make sure to rebuild your bashed/merged patches for proper compatibility.
More Interesting Loot Reborn Mod does exactly how it's called - boss chests and many other containers now will have much more worthy loot. At the same time, this will game much easier and may completely disbalance the economy part of the game, especially if you have many other content adding mods, so personal recommendation here is to use it if you want your game to be more casual, or if you don't have/have just a few armor/weapon packs, quest mods, collectible mods etc. Also, this mod is clearly the opposite to realism mods like Morrowloot - so don't use both at the same time.
Civil War Aftermath Take the fight to enemy encampments all around Skyrim with new mechanics and consequences.
Skylock - Realistically Safe Locks With Skylock, a locked door will be almost as hard to break up as it would have been to break up a door in real life. Unless, of course, you're really good at it...
Supreme Harkon Reborn Supreme buff for DLC last boss. Load after mods that touch Harkon if you want this mods stats for him.
Smart Training - Tweaked Mod makes your training sessions carry over to the next level if you don't train the max times allowed on your current level.
Consume Loose Items Allows you to consume potions, food and ingredients from the world, rather than storing them in your inventory, with customizable hotkey.
Field Medic Allows you to give and administer potions to followers and companions.
Reading Is Good This mod reworks skill books so that instead of granting levels instantly, they give you a permanent boost to your leveling speed in the respective skill. This means that you benefit more by reading them as soon as you find them.
Dynamic Clothing System One of those mods that's hard to call less then innovative, at least. Would you like to run topless? Fine! You could wear only pants or skirt! Or maybe you wanna be tough armored killing machine? Fine! You could do it too. Equip as much armor on yourself as you can. Shoulders armor, tights armor, groin armor, knees armor, and even breasplate! Yes this mod will allow you to do such thing. Viva la Diversity! Note: fully compatible with original armors/clothings - mod only adds parts, doesn't replace anything.
DLC Integration This mod adds content from Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn to the world through leveled lists, merchants, and manual placement of objects. Its purpose is to incorporate the DLC into the base game in ways that make sense, but were left out for various reasons.
Sensible Crime Reporting Mod reduces the crime reporting radius to half its default size and conditions the six core factions pertaining to animals to ignore crimes. You can consider it a "trimmed down" Crime Overhaul.
Smart NPC Potions - Enemies Use Potions and Poisons ==NEW==Why is the Dragonborn the only sensible person carrying at least a couple of health/stamina potions in Skyrim? This mod makes it so enemies sometimes carry and use a couple of potions and poisons just like you do. This will make more fair, more unpredictable and harder. Compatible with everything and customizable via MCM. Note: ASIS has the same function in it, allowing NPCs to use potions, but this mod functionality is just better in everything - more features and more control over them. If you want this feature - don't use ASIS "NPC Potions" feature and use this mod instead.
Stamina Matters - No more useless stamina ==NEW==Small yet pretty revolutionary mod and my personal recommendation for deep realism lovers. No attacking / blocking / jumping at zero stamina, rendering a complete new meaning for stamina in this game other than just a limiter for sprint / power attacks. Stamina is actually something that matters and you should put into consideration during combat now. Latest version adds Stamina consumption and CGO patch.
Thematic Loot ==NEW==Old but great and really underrated mod. It changes the loot that can be found in certain chests. Chests owned by the Dwemer, the Falmer, mages, draugrs, vampires and giants are affected. The purpose behind the changes is to make each chest more representative of the individuals who filled it with items.
SME - Skyrim Medieval Economy ==NEW==Economy and realism mod for roleplayers. Reduces item prices and drains much of the world of its gold, creating an atmosphere of scarcity befitting an RPG set in the medieval age. Also introduces a strict merchant specialization system.
Werewolf Hunger ==NEW==A hunger system for werewolves with immersive audio/visual notifications and bonuses or negatives for keeping your inner beast fed or starved. Compatible with all werewolf overhauls like Bloodmoon Rising, Lupine or Growl, but can lead to being even more OP than usual.
Alternate Training ==NEW==Now when you train at a trainer, besides for a skill point gain, you'll also gain a buff that persists for 5 game days, or 6 hours real time. This buff will grant you 10 skill bonus (in the same skill you trained) as well as three times the skill increase rate.
Faction Economy Complete ==NEW==Adds a chance for merchants to pass the items you sell them to good and evil factions. Sell items, and see them equipped on NPCs. Also look in author's profile if you want standalone versions. Personal note: whil features itself is cool, it may disbalance already fragile game economy.
Supply and Demand ==NEW==Adds a simple, game-ified 'supply and demand' economics system into the game, where duplicate items the player buys will become more expensive, and duplicate items they sell become less valuable. This also affects stealing, where stolen goods become more expensive.
Hardcore Capacity ==NEW==The harshest inventory management mod available to date. With Hardcore Capacity, you will be restricted to the smallest gear set imaginable, allowing you to only carry a few weapons, a dozen potions, and frightfully few other items.
Your Soul Is Mine - Soul Gem Relinquishment ==NEW==Your Soul Is Mine is like Dragon Soul Relinquishment for regular souls. It adds two spells: one that allows the player to absorb soul gems to purchase various passive bonuses and one that allows the player to absorb part of the victim's soul directly. The absorbed souls may be spent on various passive buffs.
Advanced Mining ==NEW==Advanced Mining is a full remake of the entire mining process. It has many options, allowing you to control the ore deposits in the game in many ways, each one can be toggled individually and adjusted.
Extra-Vile Vapors ==NEW==This mod is atweak to the damage and duration of "Vile Vapor", the puking ability of the afflicted, making it much more dangerous (was barely noticeable in vanilla). You can easily adjust the values yourself in xEdit.
Nighteye For NPCs ==NEW==Khajiit, Vampires and Werewolves...any NPC who are assumed to use nigtheye ability get improved eyesight in dark.
Battle Cry Fix ==NEW==Fixes Battle Cry so that it only affects *enemy* NPCs. Also, it should now work against undead and daedra as well (but NOT dwarven machines).
Pelt Prices Adaptation - Rewarding Hunting ==NEW==This mod intents making hunting more rewarding and a source of actual income. Depending on your mod list though, it can bring more disbalance to economy then balancing it. I'd personally recommend to lower the values twice in xEdit.
PACE Allows you to set the PACE of the game, via MCM, to your personal preferences. Alter movement speed for every circumstance *NPC's included*, decide exactly how quick, or slow, every weapon should swing, and control time itself at the push of a button. All features toggleable via the menu. It's your game, you decide the PACE.
Armor Disguises Pretty simple neat mod that adds a disguise system similar to that of Fallout New Vegas, and a few perks related to it. Has Ordinator patch.
Hunter Vendors Adds 5 hunters at the entrances of towns and cities to buy your goods. Sells leather strips, leather, arrows, bows and daggers.
Realistic Trading Stocks of Skyrim A complex mod that rebalances and changes many merchants trading stocks, and adds ability to trade with many NPCs that were not having such an option before, for their spealized resources.
Bounty Gold Lets you configure how much gold you get for Bounty Quests.
Civil War Neutrality You can stay neutral without having to miss important content. Also clears your quest journal and enables you to become Thane of Eastmarch and more.
Outfit NPCs Gift armour or weapons to any NPC for them to immediately equip. Features a Speech-based persuade dialogue option to begin outfitting (optional).
Player Knockout - Incapacitation Players have a chance of being temporarily incapacitated (and avoid being killed) when health drops too low. Somewhat cheating mod, at the one hand, but may be pretty immersive at the other one.
Crime Bounty Decay Provides for a reduction over time of your criminal bounty in a hold, as long as you stay away from the area where you're wanted.
Required Key Tweaks When you try to open a door, that requires a key, you can get a message with the name of the key.
VioLens - A Killmove Mod Amazing mod that gives you full control of killmoves. Chance, immunity, camera view, new advanced killmoves and so on. This works for melee, ranged and stealth killmoves. Great working and must-have mod.
Signature Equipment Pretty original mod that may be very useful for some players, especially in roleplay purposes. The more you use the same equipment, the more potent and valuable that equipment becomes. It's a lot like tempering, but you do it by cleaving through your enemies gradually. This allows for a favorite early game weapon to become a signature weapon that scales with your character. Maybe your character might intentionally build up the reputation of a weapon to sell it for a profit. Or maybe you like the way a weapon looks, but its damage just can't keep up. That's no longer an issue now. It's also compatible will all possible weapon mods on fly.

Serana Dialogue Edit If you like to play through Dawnguard DLC, this mod is just essential. Serana is a character with one of the most interesting backgrounds, but dialogues with her were always a bit dull and limited. This mod goal is to fix this problem, drastically expanding hear dialogues amount and giving a lot of reactions on the events around you when travelling together (especially noticable if played through Dragonborn DLC).

An expansion to Serana's dialogue in order to make her feel more organic as an interactive character with the player and the world. This includes more conversations with the player, quest awareness, radiant dialogue, and much more. With this mod, Serana should be a more engaging character not only in Dawnguard, but for the whole game. Useful Dogs Very useful mod that allows your dog to search and bring you keys, weapons, potions, ammo and so on.
Run For Your Lives A small but essential mod that makes citizens in a village or city run indoors during a dragon or a vampires attack. Combatant NPCs will not run.
Multiple Floors Sandboxing Have you ever wonder why the NPCs mostly just stay at the same floor, even though the cell has multiple floors? This little mod will encourage NPCs to climb stairs around them and explore their surroundings more.
D13 Faster GET UP STAND UP Mod that allows you to stand up faster after ragdoll effects. It’s absolutely must-have if you’re using mods that give knockback/ragdoll effects to enemies attacks (like DCO, SkyTest etc).
Attack Speed Fix Allows attack speed effects to stack, enables attack speed debuffs, and a MCM to set your own base attack speed. Obviously, can also lead to your character being OP. Matter of taste, ofc :)
Vampires Regen in Shade Allows all vampires to recover health, magicka, and stamina when standing in the shade, even during the daytime.
New spells, shouts and improved vanilal ones, immersive magic additions, rebalances and changes, enchantments and much more.
Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim The biggest and greatest spells mod in history. While adding 155 new spells it’s still really well balanced and immersive. Absolutely any player will find something useful here - just for damage or for the immersive roleplay. It’s also very compatible with other magic/perk mods. You may use or not use another mods with it but you just must use this one :) One of my two most favourite spellpacks for Skyrim. More Apocalypse - An expansion for Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim Additional spell package for Apocalypse. It may contain unbalanced spells so it’s up to you - use it or not. Elemental Staffs for Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim ==NEW==Alters the appearance of almost all Staves in Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim to appear more like their imbued power via texture changes and glow mapping.
Lost Grimoire of Skyrim My second favourite spell mod between all existing spell mods at all. It's even hard to say that I like Apocalypse or this one more - this mod is as well a true masterpiece with more then 120 mostly really greatly balanced spells for al lmagic schools and all playstyles, drastcically increasing the amount of playstyles you can make as wel. If you want my personal opinion - install it for sure.
Arcanum - A New Age of Magic New, huge and innovative. Arcanum is a massive spell mod that aims to combine unique gameplay with visual effects of astonishing quality. With 100 spells complete, 300+ spells planned, and inspired by everything from Dragon's Dogma to Planescape, Arcanum is already one of the best spell packs ever made for Skyrim, on pair with quality with Apocalypse and with many own unique approaches. Try it for sure. Note: currently, Destruction and Rerstoration spells are implemented. More to come. Compatible with other spell packs and with perk overhauls like Ordinator or Path of Sorcery. Forgotten Magic Redone Mod add 39 new spells. Key feature is it allows adds 10 improvements for each of them, so 390 improvements in total. Also make sure to install a fix for it.
Spectraverse - Magic of the Magna-Ge Mod adds interesting questline during which you can obtain 42 new destruction spells. Questline is based on TES lore, it has 5 voiced NPCs, 6 locations and 6 quests.
Dwemertech - Magic of the Dwarves Similar to previous mod, but this one is related with dwemer lore. - 42 new Alteration, Destruction and Restoration spells. - 14 bionic upgrades - Interesting queslite with voiced NPCs.
Triumvirate - Mage Archetypes ==NEW==A latest work of the greatest Skyrim mod author, Enai Siaion. Triumvirate adds support for five mage archetypes (druid, shadow mage, warlock, cleric, shaman) in the form of 15 balanced spells each, which are available immersively through vendors. Some spells may be not quite balanced, but all are useful for roleplaying purposes.
Expanded Spells of Skyrim ==NEW==This mod adds quite a few spells inspired by vanilla ones to the game. It expands and adds more spells and scrolls that previously lacked Novice, Apprentice, Adept, and Expert spell versions, plus a little more. A good choice for vanilla purists.
Elemental Apocalypse Magic ==NEW==Implements the possibility to cause visual elemental effects on slain enemies and corpses, as well as adding a magic critical hit mechanic to all kinds of elemental magic.
Vision ==NEW==Spiritual successor to Predator Vision, this mod is a new take on the way perception powers work in Skyrim.
Wrath of Nature - The Path of the Druid Immersive mod that adds series of trials. After finishing each of trials you can obtain a new druid form - frost, fire, each or nature. Each one has different unique abilities. Awesome mod for druid roleplay. Also check this typo patch.
Coldharbour Resummoned This mod that allows you to obtain new ‘cold’ spells, custom armors and of course to summon new types of draemoras. Great mod for Conjuration mage playthrough.
Shadow Spell Package This mod adds "shadow" themed destruction/illusion spells and perks to Skyrim. These spells are based around drains, damage-over-time and debuff effects. Great mod for ‘dark’ mage playthrough. Compatibility patches for almost all known perks/spells mods are at mod page in files section.
Dawnguard Arsenal Amazing mod for all who like Dawnguard and paladin/vampire hunter playthrough style. Mod adds new armors and weapons, new sun spells and also improves existing dawnguard sun spells.
Elemental Destruction Magic Awesome mod that adds 30 new spells related with different element. Another mod feature is that different types of enemies are weaker/stronger to different elements. This can bring additional immersion to your mage playthrough. Also check this patch for Ordinator, plus a better-compatible (and so, somewhat stripped) version ==NEW== exists as well.
Skysunder Metamagics Awesome mod that adds unique spell mechanics and improvements. Spell chargning, magic impacts, blinks, spell sharing, improved spell explosions and a few more features.
Phenderix Magic Evolved Maybe the biggest spell pack ever existed. Adds just enormous amount of new spells. The flaw is some spells are really overpowered. But, you can just not use them.
Dragon Age Spells Redux Pretty unique mod that adds 21 new spells from Dragons Age games with powerful effects and beautiful visuals. But the main feature is that spells now have cooldown, similar to Dragon Age series. So keep that in mind when installing the mod :)
Ace Blood Magic Unique mod that adds a real blood magic spells to your game - this spells cost your HEALTH to cast. Basically, an anti-vampire spell mod.
Ace Active Necromancy Lightweight and useful mod that improves necromancy aspects by adding several specialized spells.
Mods introducing dedicated spellsword mechanics. Remember that Ordinator has own, balanced and fun spellsword mechanics implemented in two skill trees - these mods may and most likely will make you OP on some extent - but at the same time, they have own unique features which you may like. Choose only one mod between these.
Spellsword Sword or magic, why to choose? Install this mod and be able to launch prepared spells with weapon swings. Note: Ordinator has several spellsword perks and one of the perks is making almost literally the same, so if you're running Ordinator - you don't need this one for playing as spellsword character.
Spellfury - Hit Stuff to Cast Spells ==NEW==One more approach to spellsword gameplay with pretty nonregular design. Turns magicka into a rage/ fury like mechanic (no regeneration instead you gain magicka on weapon hits). Also, tries to improve the character progression of spell-sword style characters. Complete with a MCM to tweak and/ or disable many features.

Awakened Magicka Simple but effective magic overhaul. Note: you don't need need if you're planning to use big overhauls like Ordinator.
Spell Research Maybe the most interesting and unique mod of that type, and absolutely original. Adds a completely new system to research and discover spells from any supported spell mod. As well as adding an in-built spell tome and scroll crafting system, a Victorian-Era style alchemy system, where you can decompose items, and mix or analyze the resultant solutions, and expands the lore of magic with dozens of texts and artifacts to find. In this mod, spells are not simple mixtures of cantrips or effects, but each spell is a completely unique piece of art, and each mage casts each spell slightly differently. Instead of studying what spells are 'made' of, you study how to manipulate and invoke magic. This system is told in terms of Archetypes, the elements and techniques you need to understand in order to cast spells. You can discover and study these elements and techniques through several ways. You can spend several in-game days studying your own spells in a comfortable tower. You can decompose and analyze the tons of ingredients you have stored. Or you can go out to find and study ancient text, tomes, and artifacts.
Better Spell Learning Makes learning spells from tomes actually take time, ideally increasing your immersion. Compatible and recommended to be used together with Spell Research. You also may be interested in Lost Grimoire and Elemental Destruction Magic patches for it.
Spell learning and discovery Lightweight and configurable mod that prevents player form learning spells instantly, making player to study them by spending some ingame time. Mod also has other cool features like increased chances to learn spells the more spells you casted, chances of learning about new spell when talking to mages and so on. compatible with spell mods. Use it as a more simple alternative to Spell Research+Better Spell Learning combo.
Challenging Spell Learning Pretty original, but simple alternative to previous mods. In addition, compatible with absolutely all spell mods on Nexus.
Grimoire - Spell Mastery ==NEW==Another simple and interesting implementation of spell learning. Spell mastery takes time. With Grimoire one must always have a spell tome on hand to cast its spell until mastery is achieved.
Scrollwriting in Skyrim ==NEW==Scrolls are no longer a non-renewable resource. You can now craft your own scrolls, like any self-respecting mage who dabbles in enchanting should be able to.
Magic Study Overhaul ==NEW==A new way of studying and improving spells, combinating the spells together as well as plenty of new, MMO-inspired spells. The drawback is that mod documentation is pretty scarce.
Worlds Dawn - Enchanted loot and RPG attributes in Skyrim Mod adds 124 armor and 48 weapons enchantments that are conceived to be more close to ‘old-school’ RPGs. Note about using it together with Summermyst: mod is incompatible with Summermyst [if] you turn on the enchantments included in Worlds Dawn. They are off by default and the attributes still work without them. In the MCM menu simply do not click "activate mod" and only use the attributes section of the MCM menu. Summermyst - Enchantments of Skyrim Amazing mod from the author of Apocalypse spell package. It adds 120 new enchantments to the game, accessible through thousands of new enchanted items that are integrated seamlessly into loot lists and inventories. It also fixes many bugs related to vanilla enchantments. Amazing mod to increase your enchanting and overall game experience. You may be also interested in this patch for it.
Enchanted Arsenal Badass visual mod that makes all ehcnantments (even those added by mods like Summermyst) have beautiful animated visual fx.
Thunderchild - Epic Shouts and Immersion This mod adds 29 new shouts and new abilities to improve your shouts. It also adds 24 new variants of graybeards robes, some new weapons and items and good configurable MCM menu. If you were bored with vanilla shouts variety - this mod is definitely for you. There's also Wyrmthtooth patch ==NEW== available.
Dragonborn Ascendant Awesome and criminally underrated mod. It’s main feature is boost to shouts cooldown per dragon killed (3% per 5 dragons, capped at 30%) Mod also balances and improves many shouts values and scales battle shouts damage each 10 levels. Don't use together with previous mod, choose one or another.
Wild Magic Surge ==NEW==This mod aims to make magic more volatile and dangerous by re-creating the Wild Magic system from D&D in Skyrim.
Real Telekinesis ==NEW==Mod edits the telekinesis spell so that it does damage based on the weight of the item thrown. It also makes several other light balance changes so that the spell is easier to use.
Mystical Grid ==NEW==Spell which manages up to 9 custom placeable Map Markers (fast travel) plus all the vanilla playerhomes & more.
Liam's Conjuration Spells ==NEW==A spell mod that adds 70+ new spells to the school of Conjuration. The list contains a wide variety of vanilla creatures and NPC's. This mod was created to give the player the ability to have their favourite creature by their side as they battle, without having them as a follower that causes frustration by blocking doors.
Simply Spells ==NEW==A small collection of balanced spells of all schools of magic available for purchase at the college.
Astral Magic ==NEW==Ancient spells tapping into the flow of Aetherius, drawing starlight to strike opponents.
Alterna ==NEW==A spell pack with new, red-void looking spells, a mage follower, and a giant pet robot.
VOID 9 new Dishonored-based powers. Obviously, mostly overpowered. Use with caution :)
Sleep Spells Adds three new spells to the game that cause NPCs to lie down and fall asleep where they stand.
Elemental Arrows A lot of them. This said, may of these arrows can make you pretty OP, especially when playing with perk overhauls, so use with caution. Moreover, fully-functional elemental arrows are implemented in Ordinator. Yet ofc, you may like exactly this mod as it adds vastly bigger variety of them :)
Alterion Wards Simple as that. If you don't want to mess with Restoration for wards.
Adept - Magic of Ash Reworks ash magic in Skyrim, adding 7 new spells, new weapons, a new armor set, and a small player home.
Wards Functionalities Extended A magic ward overhaul. Customize magnitude, cost, charge rate and absorption rate. Block melee weapons with your ward. Break your enemy's ward with your weapons. Protect yourself from arrows. Make shouts pass through wards. Play with new expert and master level wards.
elysees profile For a lot of definitely not lore-friendly or much realistic, but incredibly epic powers inspired by popular anime titles and games.
Kynes Peace Reimagined This mod aims to redesign the Kyne's Peace shout into a more usable alternative without being too detracting from the lore of Skyrim. The shout is now an area healing shout for you and allies.
Meteorokinesis Meteorokinesis adds 11 new weather altering spells that allow to you to change the weather to whatever you desire the most. Note: similar functionality spell exist in Apocalypse spell pack.
More Spider Recipes Adds more types of Spiders to the game and adds more locations to make and get spiders.
Ion Cannon Not lore-friendly, realistic or balanced in any way, but just too epic to not include it here :)
Fast Cast - realistic auto casting hotkeys A great utility mod adding 24 new hotkeys (keyboard and controller seperately) allowing you to equip, use and unequip a spell / shout / power / scroll / staff using any key (remappable).
Various amazing mods that can be classified as "overhauls" - a complex rework of some important game aspect, often with a lot of new cool features added.
Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim Perk overhaul mod that offers more then 400 perks to improve your game experience and class building. Mod is constantly updated - mod author improves existing and fixes bugged/overpowered perks. To tell this is a great perk overhaul - means to tell nothing. It’s rich, brilliant and absolutely perfect for both dedicated character skills building and roleplay. To make sure just visit mod page and read a few perks description. In addition to this it’s extremely light-weight compared to other perk overhaul mods and also greatly compatible with everything. If it’s your first try of perk overhauls - try it and you’ll enjoy it. If you’re using another similar mod - switch to Ordinator and you won’t go back. Perk overhauls are absolutely matter of taste, but this one’s quality is amazing. ‘How much did Enai Siaion pay you?’ - you may ask. I would also ask this, yes. Until I try this amazing mod. Even if you open comments section and see what people often write, you’ll see that many players switched from other perk overhauls and don’t want to go back. Of course, it’s only my personal opinion, but statistics don’t lie and one thing you definitely need to do is to try it :) Patches/addons: CACO-Ordinatored Ordinator - Replace the trained Rabbit with a Fox Ordinator Armor Disguises Patch Death's Emperor - A replacer for Ordinator ==NEW== Steal Books is not Stealing - A new Perk added to Ordinator pickpocket ==NEW== Vokrii Ordinator Ash Pile Retexture ==NEW== Mod works just fine in LE - download archive manually, add to mod manager, install. Note: also works for Vokrii (look below).
Vokrii - Minimalistic Perks of Skyrim You can call this "Ordinator-lite", a mod from the same author. Smaller and "simplier", while still adding depth and replayability. I personally find the complexity and variety of Ordinator perks its biggest advantage, which allows that insane amount of creative character builds - but if you want something simplier, Vokrii can be a good hit. Dawnguard Arsenal patch available.
Path of Sorcery - Magic Perk Overhaul Awesome magic perk overhaul. It affects Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Enchanting, Illusion, and Restoration trees. The one disadvantage is it’s incompatible with some big and well-known perk overhauls, like SkyRE/Requiem/SPERG. But as it is developed only for mage perk trees and you play as mage you can simply choose to use this mod only. Also it’s compatible with Ordinator, so you can use both of them - just load this mod after Ordinator. To choose perk overhaul it’s absolutely matter of taste - so you are free to try them all anyway :) Patches: Path of Sorcery Assorted Patches Path of Sorcery - Elemental Destruction Magic Patch Note: Frigid Aura perk causes nearby NPCs to grunt in pain when they come in range. This happens regardless of whether or not you are in combat. To fix this, do the next: Load up Path of Sorcery in the Creation Kit. In the Object Window, search for "IMP_MGEF_DES_FrigidAura" and click on "All" in the bottom. There should be two objects, "IMP_MGEF_DES_FrigidAura" and "IMP_MGEF_DES_FrigidAura_recast". Double click on one, and on the popup window tick "Painless". Do the same for the other, save and you're done. Image included for visual clarity. Helper image here. 20 Perks Overhaul ==NEW==Freshly released massive (mostly) perks overhaul. Wide-covering with lot of interesting perks and a brand new perk tree called Acrobatics. In additional to that, it introduces changes to gameplay balanced in overall (economy, combat, magic etc) - changes are mostly minor intended to exist for mod's perks system balance, but ofc, this can cause additional compatibility questions when used with other big mods - so read the mod page carefully to understand if you want this mod or not.
BoneMaster ==NEW==Standalone necromancy magic spellframe, based on Ordinator's conjuration.
Immersive College of Winterhold This mod a must-have. Yes, even if you're playing not as pure mage. You still will go through College questline sooner or later, and you still will be visiting it from time to time. This mod is just enormous in it's College overhaul aspect. Aesthetical visual overhaul of structures and building, new buildings, new cells, new dungeon, greatly improved College NPCs AI, new NPCs, imemrsive magic learning experience, new dungeon, quest and dozens of other tiny details.
Enemy overhauls - a complex mods improving/change plenty/most of enemies in the game - improving their AI, rebalancing level and stats, and often giving new abilities to make walkthrough much more interesting and combat to feel anew and always being able to surprise you. All these overhauls (and 3 complementary overhauls below) are meant to make game much more challenging - so it's recommended to use them in tandem with perk overhauls like Ordinator, new spellpacks etc. Choose ONE between these three.
Revenge Of the Enemies 2016 Absolutely amazing and must-have mod for challenging enemies. My personal recommendation. It improves enemies AI, scales enemies level with yours, give unique skills to each enemy type, gives them strong cooperation and so on. Also the great advantage is that it’s very-light-weight and almost scriptless. Also get this lil NPC faces fix for it. Revenge of the Enemies Patches Contains patches for other mods that works together with ROTE. Install patches after ROTE and other mods you'll use with it and place them after these mods using LOOT.
Advanced Adversary Encounters - Ultimate Edition Similar mod with a different approach. It focuses mostly not on unique enemies abilities and skills, but on adding more realistic resistances. Skeletons are very resistant to arrows, automatons are very resistant to sharp weapons, shock and fire spells, but weak to ice spells, and so on. Also has dedicated patches page - don't forget to grab the patches you need. The con is this mod is has pretty "vanilla-like" enemies skills/abilities, not changing much in this aspect. I personally use ROTE.
One Last Skyrim Playthrough ==NEW==This one is a fresh enemy overhaul - something in a middle between ROTE and AAE, but with own touch. I've really enjoyed it for a decent time and should I start another complete Skyrim walkthrough for myself now - I'd consider this mod for sure. Try it!
Between the next 3 mods also choose ONE- but in general, they [can be used on top of one of 3 mods above]. Note that in such case, depending on combination, enemies and especially bosses may become incredibly strong/resistant - if you're pure hardcore nut, it's recommended to adjust records related to enemies in Bashed/Merged patch by hand (which requires Apprentice xEdit skills, a bit above newbie) to prevent some irrationally hardcore encounters or unkillable enemies.
Enemy Enhancer This one is pretty simple, but involves scripts. It applies additionaly resitances dynamically in game, so won't cause any plugin-level compatibility issues. Also fully configurable in MCM. Improvement addon ==NEW== is available (standalone, doesn't require mod itself, use it instead).
Bring Your Silver This mod remake the importance of silver weapons in combat when fighting certain enemies and add silver arrows and bolts to the game. My personal choice here.
Archery Gameplay Overhaul Popular and amazing archery mod. It adds great amount of features: - dozens of animations. - enchanted arrows - new bow camera mod - arm fatigue - really, really many overall archery improvements that make archer/hunter gameplay more interesting and realistic. Less compatible with other mods than Nock to Tip.
Skyrim Unhinged ==NEW==Note: this mod is oriented on hardcore gameplay and can be disturbing for some people. It's pretty much not for everyone, but is a great in its implementation. Adds new things to the world of Skyrim, including suicides, ambushes, Doppelgangers, new followers and potential marriages.
Crafting Skills Revamped ==NEW==A neat crafting overhaul that can be used on top of CCOR and other big mods. Read the mod page carefully though to see if you need it or not.
INFAMY - Truly Harsh Economy For Thieves ==NEW==A great hardcore/realism mod which affects trading. Merchants will now treat you worse based on how much you have stolen from their city. Bear the consequences of your misdeeds. Compatible with Trade and Barter.
Simple and Dynamic Skills - Improved Standing Stones ==NEW==Skill learning modifiers are determined by a combination of the level of the skill and investment in the primary Perks of the corresponding tree. Each skill is accordingly classified as Major (35% XP bonus), Minor (normal XP), or Auxiliary (20% XP penalty*). At low levels, only the first Perk is required for a Major Skill, but at higher levels, further investment is needed. Mod also introduces own changes to standing stones, focused on balanced changes and both pros and cons of certain stones.
Attributes Reborn ==NEW==A mod that attempts to revive the attribute system from TES games of the past to work alongside the perk and skill system of Skyrim.
MorrowLoot Ultimate In-depth and, in my opinion, simply essential mod. It makes a complete rebalances of various game aspects, making it to play more similar to Morrowind leveled lists and leveling system - rare items like daedric or dwarven are REALLY rare now so you will not see each 2nd bandit in daedric gear when you'll reach lvl 80, enemies level scaling is much more balanced and challenging, and so on - many other mechanics such as leveling and alchemy were changed as well. Note: this is also the only "flaw" of this mod - it's too complex and will have compatibility issues with similar mods. That's why I'm personally using the "simplified" version of it, look below.
Scarcity - Less Loot Mod Simple and amazing mod that does how it's called - compatible with everything. My personal choice is x6 less loot and x4 less merchant stocks. Note: make sure all 3 this mod's esp files are placed straight before Bashed Patch/Smashed Patch in load order when making Bashed/Smashed patches.
Poverty - You Hunger Reborn Similar mod, but this one is removing most of static food and drinks from the game (not vendors, dw, just logically giving you actual need to cook and buy food and drinks rather than just stealing 500 carrots lying around on each corner), and replacing them with same mod-affected items with changed spawn. Basically, an "unfound loot" mod.
Vampire overhauls. Choose one.
Better Vampires One of two greatest vampire mods ever made. Mod gives a wide overhaul for vampires. Perks and skills improvements, new skills, expanded system of vampire needs, blood storage system and much more. Choose between this one and Sacrosanct below.
Sacrosanct - Vampires of Skyrim The second of the two greatest vampire mods and my personal favourite. Sacrosanct overhauls vampires and vampire lords. Reverse progression (stronger when fed), new abilities, powers, perks, hemomancy, various new progression systems, personal vampire questline and many gameplay tweaks for the discerning undead monster. It's main advantage over is while being absolutely revolutionary and all-embracing, it's very lightweight at the same time, and very easy to get used to all new features. Note: do not use both Sacrosacnt and Better Vampires. Choose one. Tehnically, they can be used together (patch available on BV page), but in this case many of Sacrosanct major features will be cut off. You can also grab a tiny balancing patch for it here ==NEW==.
Sanguinair Vampirism ==NEW==One more vampirism overhaul, with own design and vampire gameplay approach. An alternative to try if you don't want to use Sacrosanct or Better Vampires.
Werewolf overhauls. Moonlight Tales Essentials can be used with Bloodmoon Rising and Lupine, but not with Growl. Also, choose only one mod between Bloodmoon Rising, Lupine and Growl.
Bloodmoon Rising This is great werewolf mod that overhauls werewolf perks and stats. If you like to play as werewolf you should know that werewolf became wery weak versus high level enemies. Mod helps with this.
Lupine - Werewolf Perk Expansion Tired of Bloodmoon Rising? Try this one! A new and absolutely badass werewolf perk overhaul which introduces absolutely new unique features, like two possible werewolf paths, completely new howls, looting as werevolf, werevolf armor etc.
Growl - Werebeasts of Skyrim ==NEW==Growl is a lightweight werewolf (and werebear) overhaul from author of Ordinator and Apocalypse. It offers a much smoother werebeast combat experience, scaling, reworked perks, synergies between beast and mortal form, lunar transformations and many quality of life improvements, making werebeasts a viable choice for your character, and all this without "taking over" or imbalancing the game heavily.
ASIS Asis is a must-have mod for interesting and challenging playthrough. Its main feature is increased spawns, but it also offers tonns of other features. I personally advise to use ASIS only for 3 features: perks and spells distribution to NPC and NPC potion usage. With this you can have an amazing game where all new spells/perks from mod could be used by NPCs as well as potions. It’s AI option is pretty old and i don’t recommend to use it because modern combat mods have better AI improvements. Also it’s not needed to use its increased spawn features as game can became hard as hell (imagine 5 modded dragons with new spells and AI or 50 bandits with modded perks/skills). So once again, I recommend to use ASIS with 2 features: perks and spells. For NPC potions usage, it's better to use much more feature-packed alternative here ==NEW==. Also, don’t forget to run ASIS patcher each time you installed mod that adds spells/perks. Patcher is locaed in \Data\Skyproc Patchers\ASIS\ASIS.jar Note: my .INI files, tweaked even more for better compatibility with modern mods, are available for download, suitable for mod manager installation. ASIS Improved INI Files Improved ASIS .ini files configured for proper use with most of popular mods. Be sure to install it - it's brilliant.
Race overhauls. Choose one:
Imperious - Races of Skyrim Awesome mod that overhauls Skyrim races abilities and one I'm using myself. Now each race has 3 passive abilities and ultimate active ability that can be unlocked through race quest. That also bring more immersion to playthrough. New races abilities are interesting and fit perfectly with each race. A patch enabling its usage with any mod-added race is available.
Vanilla Races Redone Reborn And one more - by talented Erkeil. This racial overhaul has a great balance and huge attention to details, and if you (for some reasons, for example, if you don't want brand new racial powers) don't want to use something bigger as Imperios, this mod is a perfect option between being simple and complex.
Standing stones overhauls. Choose one:
Andromeda - Unique Standing Stones of Skyrim Mod replaces the default standing stone effects with tactical and interesting new powers and abilities. Each standing stone comes with one passive ability and one active power. While greatly increasing standing stones effects variety, mod is still balanced and great for immersive playthrough.
Oblivionesque Standing Stones ==NEW==Replaces the more boring standing stones with notable, script free effects inspired by Birthsigns in Morrowind and Oblivion, while being usable for a wide variety of builds.
Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim Hands down the BEST religion mod you can ever have. More than 45 deities to worship, roleplay-wise worshipping mechanics and unique bonuses! Grab it, don't even think. Also don't forget to install Book Covers Skyrim patch for it ;) Optional rebalance addon ==NEW== and QOL addon ==NEW== for Growl are available, as well as Zim's Immersive Artifacts patch ==NEW== and Simply Knockpatch ==NEW==.
Stealth Skills Rebalanced Great mod that offers serious overhaul for stealth gameplay. Detection was reworked for more realistic stealth experience. Fixes of vanilla stealth bugs and Stealth perk trees overhaul. It also has ‘perkless’ version for compatibility with other perk overhaul mods.
Dragon Combat Overhaul Essential mod that offers amazing overhaul for dragons. Dragons are DRAGONS now - powerful, frightening monsters. AI improvements, unique skills and shouts and realistic physics. You’re fighting dragon, not a butterfly! If dragon lands close to you or makes a powerful tail/wing strike and you did not block this - you’ll be ragdolled. Dragons also can grab other NPCs and just throw them in air and many more other immersive features. If you want to have a real challenge fighting dragons - this mod is for you! I'd say even more simply - this mod is absolutely essential, because no matter how beefy your dragons will be empowered by other mods, this still makes not much sense if they still have stupid vanilla AI and no realistic physics.
Ultimate Dragons Another awesome dragon mod. It adds 20 new attacks for dragons, improves their AI and offers location damage for different parts of dragon body. Also dragon can enrage at low HP, becoming much more dangerous. It’s also compatible with most of other dragon mods.
Zim's Dragon Improvements ==NEW==This mod is an attempt to make all-in-one dragons overhaul - not only abilities and stats, but also visual appearance and other features, existing here and there in standalone mods like DCO, DD or DDC3. While doing many things great and offering easy all-in-one solution for modding newcomers, at the sametime, it heavily lacks customization and compatibility with other great dragon mods - so it's up to you whether to use it or not after reading the mod page :)
Dynamic Potions - Poisons - Ingredients - Food Freedom to customize the duration & strength of potions, poisons, food, and ingredients any way you like them, through a convenient MCM menu. You can also change the price & weight of items, stackability of effects, and other unique settings, which is greatly increasing usability of all potions, potions and food in the game. Compatible with most of the mods and with CACO as well.
Experience A complete overhaul to experience system in Skyrim transforming it to classic RPG style. Compatible with mods as well. Gain experience by completing quests, exploring wilderness, clearning dungeons and forts, killing enemies and so on. If you're using Atlas Map Markers, don't forget to install this ini tweaks addon.
Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul Awesome mod that offers great improvement to friendly NPCs of Skyrim giving them much smarter behavior and survival instincts. It's maybe the one and big flaw is bad compatibility part when it comes to mods that affects cities/towns/villages. Though, you may be interested in separate JK's Whiterun mod version which is compatible with it.
AI Overhaul A similar mod, but with somewhat different approach which results in a much better compatibility - a good alternative to the mod above if you have pretty heavy load order in terms of settlement mods.
Lock Overhaul Overhauls the lock system, adding new features: Lock requirement, smash locks, unlock spell and auto pick locks. With fully customizable MCM menu and compatible with pretty much everything.
Depths of Skyrim - An Underwater Overhaul Overhauls the underwater environment and adds content to the sea of Ghosts. New grass types across the shore and underwater, over 1000 new fishes in sea, corals, groups of horkers, dozens of unmarked treasures and many fixes.
Character Creation Overhaul Character Creation Overhaul brings back birthsigns, classes, specializations, favored attributes, and major/minor skills to Skyrim. No more boring cookie-cutter characters - choice matters again.
Diseased - diseases system overhaul A complete disease system to Skyrim. Diseases progresses over time, can be cured by resting, managing medicines, potions, etc. Player can get sick eventually, can craft medicines and curing potions, can learn about diseases to discover the debuffs suffered. Make sure to install a Dragonborn DLC patch.
Civil War Overhaul - Redux ==NEW== An improved version of well-known Civil War Overhaul mod - still script-heavy, but now much less buggy. Still, it's recommended to play a walkthrough directly through civil war to experience it and then start a new walkthrough without it.
Lore-Friendly Game Adjustments ==NEW==A massive game overhaul which affects many things, from descriptions to enemies, mostly oriented on "lore worms". For the rest of players it won't server much though.
True Medieval Economy A mod which brings sort of medieval experience to Skyrim economics, making it really harsh in some aspects. Compatible with mods of popular mods, but once again, see if this mod changes are for you before using it walkthrough.
True Equipment Overhaul A huge an really innovative, I'd even dare to say, revolutionary mod that's completely changing the properties of armors and weapons in the game, making them much more diverse and realistic, as well as adding new weapon and armor types and variations to all game corners, including factions. It also adds new damage types and their respective pros and cons. Compatible with most of popular mods (including perk overhauls like Ordinator - there are some exceptions, read the mod page). Mod has some oversights, yet nothing game-breaking, and it's constantly updated. If you're seeking for something brand new in terms of items immersion in your game - try it for sure.
Opening Scene Overhaul Starting a new game through vanilla start is generally not a recommended option with a heavy-modded game, but if your setup can handle this without issues - get this mod for sure! Ever thought Skyrim's opening scenes were boring and felt like they were missing something? Well, today's your lucky day, because this mod rejuvenates and overhauls 'Unbound' by restoring LOTS of cut, unused dialogue, including a more invigorating cart sequence, Elenwen arguing with Tullius, even escape with Ulfric himself! Males of Skyrim patch ==NEW== available.
Hearthfire Extended New content for the Hearthfire DLC, integrated seamlessly with Hearthfire's construction system. Build any furniture in any room. Build additional wings off your cellar. Also includes bugfixes and enhancements to vanilla apiaries, butter churns and mead barrels.

Dwemer Certified Don't just let those broken Dwemer Constructs and spare Dwemer Ingots go to waste- use them to build an army of steam-powered robots, upgrade and enchant their equipment, then lead them into battle from the driver's seat of a Dwemer Centurion. There's also Ordinator patch available (works fine with LE, just download manually, add to mod manager and install).
Alchemy-dedicated mods - everything potions & poisons related, as well as cooking/brewing related ones. They technically are general gameplay improvements type, but alchemy is a very popular skill with some true gems for it, so I thought it would be nice to give them a separate section :)

Let's start from a most (deservedly) known, complex and simply epic alchemy overhaul, which is close to be an essential mod for almost any walkthrough.
Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul
Amazing mod that completely overhauls Alchemy and Cooking. Alchemy has a great potential in Skyrim, but at the same time it was the most boring profession. And now CACO saves the day! Besides awesome overhauls mod even offers you to craft alchemical bombs as well as waxes, salves and bandages. You can also use field alchemy stuff to make potions & poisons anywhere you want. CACO also offfers basic needs and even inebriation effects. It has MCM menu and most of new features can be configured and turned off if you don’t need them.

Makes Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul use the animated potion bottles from XxAwesome_PotionsxX.
Now, a few mods which are wrapped about making potions usage more thoughtfull, double-edged, similar to how it was done in Witcher games. These are absulutely optional as they, ofc, will make game harder. Choose one:
Toxicity - A Witcher-like Toxicity System Adds a toxicity value to consuming potions based on the strength of the potion and effect types. Works with any potions from any mods. High toxicity produce visual effects and drunkenness. This put a soft limit on the number of potion that can be consumed in a row, making you to use potions much more wisely.
Potion Tolerance While under the effect of potions, your tolerance will gradually increase, decreasing the effectiveness of subsequent potions. Tolerance will gradually return to normal after all alchemical effects wear off. A much more simple alternative to mods above.
Poisoning Extended A simple but revolutionary mod that allows you to poison your weapons multiple times to not make this annoying "menu-poison-back to game" action after each swing or shot and to actually see which exactly poison is applied and how many stacks left via cozy UI. You can watch my review of it here.
Alchemy Redone ==NEW==An alternate potion crafting system without replacing vanilla alchemy. Use one, use the other, use both, with no conflicts. Can be a good addition to your mod list if you're not using CACO (which has own system similar to this).
White Phial Realignment This mod lets you refill The White Phial with any potion you want, giving you a fresh potion every day. Thus making it into the ultimate alchemy artefact it was always meant to be.
Alchemical Treatise ==NEW==This mod adds a series of alchemy books that teach the effects of each ingredient in them, placed at lore-friendly locations around Skyrim, that have in-built support for several popular mods that add ingredients including CACO, Beasts of Tamriel, Immersive Creatures and Skybirds.
Less player made potions value ==NEW==Selling expensive made potions is too much profitable in vanilla game, and ruins the fun in needing loot/quest rewards.With this you get like 10 times less for your own made potions. You can change this easily in xEdit if it feels too much.
Alchemist Compendium This is an immersive in-game reference book, listing all Skyrim ingredients and their 4 effects.

Ambience, weapons, magic, movement, reverb system, sound propagation, creatures and the overall mix are key areas of change. Once you try it you most likely won’t go back to vanilla sounds anymore.
Immersive Sounds - Compendium
Another complete overhaul for Skyrim sounds similar to AOS2, with a bit more fantasy approach to sounds. Can be also used alongside with minor overlaps.
Lucidity Sound FX
Amazing medium-sized sound mod that, by the way, can be used together with AOS2/ISC. Just install it after.

Everything about combat - better enemies AI and new skills, injuries, locational damage, unique player moves and overall combat improvements here and there to make dull Skyrim combat shine.
Combat Evolved Light-weight, script-free and just amazing combat mod. Due to its great compatibility it just should be used alongside with other combat mods for even better combat experience. Enemies are more agressive and smarter. Stagger, knockdown, enemy skills, and enemy damage are enhanced. But at the same time enemies are not ‘terminators’ - mod is good balanced. I strongly recommend to use it. I also advise to use modular version for more detailed installation process.
Ultimate Combat Amazing combat mod that brings you totally new combat experience. Enemies AI is now better, they can cooperate, parry, dodge, counter your attacks as well as having unique special spells and abilities. Mod modifies many combat stats for more realistic combat. Mod also adds timed block feature, stamina cost for regular attacks, headshots for archers (can be configured in MCM menu) and some even more things. Try it for sure!
TK Combat Awesome mod that adds possibility to use series of special moves and attacks that consumes your Magicka. It’s a great mod for pure warriors playthrough who almost don’t use Magicka. It may look not very lore-friendly to someone, but it’s up to you - use it or not.
TK HitStop This is a great mod for combat immersion. Ever asked yourself why weapon weights nothing? Why your character doesn’t feel any physics after swinging two-handed battleaxe? Then this mod is for you. When the player hits an actor or an object, a “hit-stop” (a tiny pause) is added along with camera shake and blur effects. This makes weapon strikes feel more solid and heightens the sense that a hit has actually been made.
TK Recoil This mod is similar to previous one, just for the bows/crossbows. When the player shot a bow or crossbow or staff, a "recoil" (a tiny pause) is added along with camera shake and blur effects. This makes weapon recoil feel more solid and heightens the sense that a hit has actually been made. Mod also comes with an MCM menu.
TK Dodge Very popular and must-have mod if you’re running several combat mods that increase game difficulty. Mod adds dodge rolls (forward-back-left-right) using hotkeys. Mod also has an MCM menu where you can re-configure the hotkeys and dodge roll stamina cost. Also, install the sound addon ==NEW== for it. Use this mod or the Ultimate Dodge mod below - one or another.
TUDM - The Ultimate Dodge Mod ==NEW==One more great dodge mod, with own pros and cons. Pro is that it doesn't rely on FPS in terms of dodge responsibility (with TK dodge, if you have FPS below 40, dodge responsiveness can become worse, i.e. small delay appear) - so it never has a dodge delay after hotkey pressed no matter if you fps is 60 or 25. Most of people also like it's animations more. Cons - less options for configuration. Choose this mod or TK Dodge - one or another. This mod is NOT compatible with FNIS, use Nemesis.
Lock-On - lock on mechanism Simple mod that gives you "lock-on" feature (like in Dark Souls and many more RPG series) to increase your combat speed and accuracy. I personally think this mod is making your character pretty OP, but that's still a matter of taste.
Wildcat - Combat of Skyrim New combat mod from the author of Apocalypse/Ordinator. This amazing mod makes combat more realistic, dynamic and brings more lethality into your game. Mod improves combat AI that makes enemies more smart, initiative and dangerous. It’s biggest and greatest (in my opinion) feature is wide injures system. It’s really realistic and simple at the same time. It also modifies global difficulty levels in Skyrim and gives you possibility to configure these values in MCM menu. It also offers timed block feature as well as many other combat modifiers. It’s also pretty good compatible with all combat/magic/ perk overhaul mods and mod author also inlcuded detailed load order description list for this/that mod. Wildcat is pretty much similar to Vigor so basically you’ll need to choose between them, but of course with some efforts and a few time of customizing their MCM menus you can use them both. I personally prefer Wildcat as it’s more intuitive for me, but it’s up to you of course :)
Additional Techniques Tiny, but simply revolutionary mod for spellcasing and also great for archers. It adds absolutely new techniques for the player to do combat advantageously.
Wounds Simple mod focused exactly on injuries. More realistic/hard to heal comparing to Wildcat's injuries system (you should not use them both or disable WC injuries if you want this one, otherwise it will become messy).
Locational Damage(SKSE Plugin) Actually working, light-weight and finally really STABLE locational damage mod for Skyrim. Full configurable in .INI file. When using with combat mods like Ultimate Combat or Wildcat, either disable locational damage in UC and/or injuries in WC, or set this mod effect chances to very low - otherwise you'll be very OP. Note: my .INI file for this mod is available for download, sutaible for mod manager installation.
Weapon Arts This mod adds to Skyrim weapon-arts (or weapon-skills), which are based on equipped weapon type and its enchantment. Inspired by similar system in Dark Souls series, and weapon skills from VIGILANT.
ArrowBlock(REAL Deflect Arrow) Mod allows to block arrows or magic projectiles with or without shield, if performing a well-timed block. Not much realistic for many players, but definitely a cool feature - and may be a good addition to super-hardcore mod setups.
Please remember: big amount of population mods may overload your game and cause instability and FPS drops. To avoid this - install population mods one by one and check your performance ingame, testing affected areas like cities, forts or faction battles.
Inconsequential NPCs This mod is something game should have from teh day one - it's simply essential. It's adding various NPCs here and there in Skyrim, greatly fitting the city/town/region - you will never even think these NPCs are from the mod as they are acting absolutely seamlessly. Carriages now finally have guards, there are skooma dealers and flower girls in Riften, much more mercenaries, college studends, tavern patrons, workers, towncriers and much more. This mod also plays great in pair with the next one. You may be also interested in RS Children patch for it (look for it in files section, close to the end).
Interesting NPCs The biggest NPC mod ever made, an absolute titan between all of them. While Inconsequential NPCs is focusing on "no noticable" immersive NPC addition to "fill" the gaps in game, Interesting NPCs adds characters with own stories, often with questlines and all are fully-voiced. Over 250+ fully voiced NPCs, 25+ followers, 15+ marriage NPCs, and 50+ quests. 3DNPC is like a game inside a game in meaning of size. The dialogue choices allow you to role-play, providing humor and depth to each conversation. You can be a jerk or a jester, a white knight or an assassin, as the most important character is you. Note: while the mod itself is stable, you should take into account that it adds really a lot of new NPCs and if you're planning to use many population mods at the same time, test the game deeply before starting an actual walkthrough to be sure game performance is not affected badly with too many NPCs added. You may also be interested in beautiful visual overhauls for many of its characters here or here ==NEW==, Amalee customizer and Zora customizer for it.
Citizens of Tamriel A tribute to old-school RPGs that adds some much-needed life to Skyrim's NPCs. Features all new, fully-voiced characters, branching dialogue and more. My personal recommendation.
Immersive Patrols Mod adds plethora of patrols of almost every major faction across all DLCs, including Stormcloaks, Thalmor, Imperials, Dawnguard, Travelers, Merchants, Bandits, Skaal, Redoran, Reavers and Rieklings. You will see small and bigger faction battles and even for sieges in absolutely each region of Skyrim! It’s also don’t use scripts - so you can install and uninstall it anytime without any worries and it’s pretty good compatible with almost everything. Note: don't use OBIS and Immersive Patrols togehter - while being 100% stable and great mods themselves, when used together, sooner or later they case a game-breaking bug when random factions start attacking you on sight with no reason. I'm personally using OBIS.
WARP - World Assets Recycle Project Have you ever wished that there were more mods like The Paarthurnax Dilemma, or Miraak - Dragonborn Follower? where you are given freedom to explore quests, save characters, or even defeat others in different ways? Or just felt as if something was missing in the world? Well this is the mod for you.
More Immersive NPCs More NPC's that wander organically throughout Skyrim using custom AI packages, in an attempt to make traveling more dangerous, and the roads less empty. Fugitives, Bounty Hunters, Black-Briar Mercenaries, Reachmen, Thalmor Inquisitors, Poachers, Traveling Miners and more.
WARZONES 2015 - Civil Unrest Great mod which does exactly what how it named. Mod adds ifferent, small and big - battles, ambushes, encounters and skirmishes throughout whole Skyrim. There are hundreds of dynamic spots now where you can see massive battles between different factions and, of course, take some action. Old version of the mod were unstable and caused crashes. Current version was improved a lot and now it’s stable. Also it now has MCM menu. Also check this additional plugin for eve more epic experience. Note: while the mod itself is stable now, it's not recommended to use it with heavy mod list in general as it sometimes adds too many NPCs at the same time.
Northern Encounters Awesome encounter mod that also adds lore-based storylines alongside with the new encounters.
Denizens of Morthal ==NEW==Uses carefully spliced and re-purposed dialogue to allow the citizens of Morthal to interact with each another. Along with giving more immersive schedules to the inhabitants, it also expands the skills and backstories of Benor, Eisa Blackthorn, Valdimar and Erandur.
Interesting Generic NPCs ==NEW==Add over 100 custom-voiced NPCs with varied faces, personality, dialogue, voice to the world of Skyrim. Each of them has their opinions about Skyrim's events and people.
MINPCs (More Immersive NPCs) ==NEW==A mod that adds many new NPC's that wander organically throughout Skyrim using custom AI packages, in an attempt to make traveling more dangerous, and the roads less empty. Note: it's recommended to delete Bandit Raiders from it in xEdit.

P.S. there similar mods from SOT (Sands Of Time) team, they are also great, but I personally advise ot use this "Populated" series because for more or less same amount of features these mods are more light-weight and mostly totally scriptless.
Various completely new gameplay features and additions - many things that this game lacked, features inspired by other RPGs, vanilla mechanics expanded by new stuff. Combat and absolutely "civil" related as well.
Magic Duel - Reborn This mod allows you to engage magic duels with your enemies. If you want some more epicness for your mage playthrough - try it for sure. You can duel both NPCs and dragons. For dragon magic duel becomes shout duel and that’s pretty immersive. Mod also contains configurable MCM menu.
Mixed Unit Tactics - Dawnguard Edition - Skyrim meets RTS This mod brings some strategy feature to Skyrim. You can create different squads of followers, give them wide amount of orders, use a shout as a signal for action, pay salary, order to make stealthy operations, write order on paper. Followers also can even steal horses to ride.
Hidespots Awesome mod inspired by Assassins Creed. You can hide in different containers and then perform stealthy actions to nearby objects or NPCs.
Trade Routes Ever wanted to play as a traveling merchant, buying goods cheap where they're plentiful and selling them where they're rare for a modest profit? Than this mod is definitely for you :) Mod adds different trade aspect like regional prices, speech scaling, trade supplies, quests affeting on prices here and there and few more.
Special Perks from Questing Innovative, immersive mod that gives the player new unique perks and powers upon completion of major and guild quest lines - similar to how it was inmplemented in Fallout New Vegas. You can watch a review here.

Skyrim Realistic Conquering for Fort Takeovers ==NEW== A smilar mod to create even bigger coverage of this functionality across the game world. Using Fort Takeovers Framework, SRC makes immersive changes to multiple locations after you clear them. To make it compatible with Lawbringer, use it's modular installer to remove unwanted locations.
Halted Stream Mine Halted Stream Camp is sitting on top of a decent iron mine. This mod will let you claim the mine for a faction of your choice, preventing bandits from spawning there again.
Gems in All Mines Find gems in all mines and throughout the depths of Blackreach. This mod also adds the missing Diamond and Garnet Geodes to your game.
Slick Sneaking K747 Slit and choke throats by using the mouse buttons. Ensure no-one goes to sleep because they are afraid you'll stab them. Play peekaboo as you showcase how knives work after coming out of invisibility.
More Horses Adds more horses, saddles, barding, herds, foals, and general horse diversity throughout Skyrim. And a new mesh for Arvak and some 'special' horses.
Horse Armors for Skyrim Mod adds armored horses replacing each cities horse with a unique armor set. Plus Shadowmere and Frost.
Jobs of Skyrim Adds new jobs for you to do for better immersion/role playing.
Cooking In Skyrim One more cooking mod which aims to make cooking more interesting by giving you the feeling of progress, more useful and rewarding, but still balanced. Using a recipe book system, completely overhauls the vanilla food effects and adds new recipes.
Portals of Skyrim Mod adds one portal in each hold of Skyrim. It's just another way to fast travel. Fully compatible with followers.
Power Stones of Skyrim Mod adds many Power Stones scattered around Skyrim with 34 different powers. Based on concept in The Witcher games. Every Power Stone gives you a random power for 8 hours ingame. Different Powers can stack. Also you have a chance of 3% to get Skill Point.
Become A Highwayman Pretty simple mod. Stop unsuspecting travelers along the road and demand their gold and valuables. You can only rob travelers, farmers, and other people who live outside the cities in Skyrim.
Landlord Amazing mod that allows you to invest in different business in Skyrim to receive long-term profit. You can also hire employees to increase you income and mercenaries to defend you business from bandits (if you are too cool to do this yourself).
Skyshards Not-so-lore-friendly (because objects added never existed in Skyrim, but added from ESO), but pretty original mod. This mod adds 108 Skyshards, which are objects containing a magical essence that can be absorbed, throughout the 9 holds. After X (deafult amount is 3 but can be configured) Skyshards are absorbed, you will gain 1 (default value, can be configured) perk point that you can invest as you please. This may make your character pretty OP in some conditions, but if used wisely with balanced settings (especially if you already have more perk points per level from Uncapper, or more perk points from Ordinator optional file), this mod can be really unique addition to your leveling and a good motivation for wilderness exploration.
The Elsweyr Trader A criminally underrated mod. Khajiit Trader featuring goods from Elsweyr. Includes new merchants, new harvestables, new foods , new blessing altars, new standing stone, cheese/wine aging, new player homes and much more.
Draw - A Dueling Mod Settle your conflicts like a real Nord! Single combat with any npc, no damaged faction relations, no strings attached. Killing your opponent is optional.
Dark Souls Bonfires Adds some cool features from dark souls such as bonfires, estus flasks, Humanity, Fire Keepers and kindling!
Animated Wings Ultimate ==NEW==62 fully animated feathered, dragon, and fairy wings packed with configurable immersive effects, customizable controls, and optional integrated flight support! Now more than ever, your characters will FEEL like they have wings, not just look like it! All effects are 100% configurable. Mod will obviously give you an overpowered advantage over enemies in combat and for exploration as well, but it's a true gem from the perspective of its design and quality. You can also see my review of it here.
Haunting and Mourning ==NEW==This mod restores a couple of world interaction events that Bethesda left disabled on purpose: "Haunting" and "Mourning". These happen when an unique NPC dies.
Fossil Mining - with Legacy support ==NEW==Adds fossils that you can find while mining to make mining more profitable and interesting, brought to you with the help of the creator of Legacy of the Dragonborn with built-in Legacy support. You can also grab map markers addon for it.
Bulk Enchanting ==NEW==Allows you to enchant multiple items at once, speeding up the tedious enchanting process when leveling enchanting. Compatible with enchantment overhauls like Summermyst.
Power of Dragon Blood ==NEW==This mod adds dragon blood as a drop from dragons. You can drink it to gain a powerful boost to all three attributes, health, magicka, and stamina, as well as a resistance to both fire and frost damage. You can also use it to smith enhanced dragon armor, which has increased base armor value and a strong enchantment, and two special weapons
Skald's Mail - A Courier Alternative ==NEW==Replaces the courier system with mailboxes you can rent or purchase, and includes extra features such as mail-order deliveries from shops, shipping items long distances, and sending off gear to be improved.
ClothingCraft ==NEW==ClothingCraft adds recipes and new materials (including flax!) for crafting vanilla clothing and clothing from Immersive Armors mod.
Athletics Training ==NEW==This mod brings back Athletics to Skyrim. Raise your speed and jump height by sprinting, jumping and swimming. The more you train, the better you will get. Fully customizable via MCM. Introduces several new athletic abilities like simultaneous sprinting and jumping.
Immersion is very "wide" term in gaming. Long story short, it's everything that makes your game realistic (i.e. similar to real life) in some way - needs system, camping, weather affecting character warmth and health, realistic physical abilities, AI packages and so on. Everything to make you feel not just playing a character in game, but to "feel" this game better and have better interaction with the world around you.

Tentapalooza for Campfire Great mod that adds many beautiful items compatible with Campfire and Frostfall: bedrolls, different tents great for roleplay, storages, follower tents, pet beds and shrines.
Campsite A simple, lightweight alternative to Campfire. Don't use togther, ofc :)
Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival Realistic survival experience? Best immersion mod even created? Think no more. Look at Frostfall. Absolutely amazing survival experience. Cold water, frosty winds, snow, low temperatures - everyting these now affect your health condition. Frostfall uses a sophisticated system to track your location, weather, time of day, worn clothing, and more, to determine your current condition, in a seamless and immersive way. Combined with Campfire, it also features a large variety of craftable camping equipment, including craftable torches. It is highly customizable, and very compatible with most other mods, including Real Shelter, Climates of Tamriel, Wet and Cold, worn cloaks, food, timescale, lighting, werewolf, and vampire mods. A neat magic umbrella addon is available. Personal note: If you never played any kind of survival games or just hardcore RPGs like Dark Souls - this mod can be really hard for you as it’s really realistic and most likely stared a new playthrough with its default settings you’ll die from cold more often then from enemies. But it’s not a reason not to use it if you like its idea in overall. Its MCM menu is really greatly customizable so you can decrease all negative effects power and increase your items/clothes values to play more simple.
Exhaustion Tiny but immersive mod that plays audible breaths from your character when your health/stamina/magicka drops below a certain percentage.
Hunger/thirst/fatique mods (a need to eat, drink and sleep).
iNeed - Food Water and Sleep Awesome basic needs mod. It adds hunger/thirst/sleep system so finally food and drinks become valuable in your playthrough. It also offers intuitive system of widgets to inform you about current needs status. It’s very high-compatible with most popular mods and greatly customizable in MCM menu. It’s more immersive, has more features and have better design (Ninth bless widgets!) than Realistic Needs and Diseases in my opinion and also has much better compatibility with other mods, but if you like RnD more - install it instead. Note: do [NOT] install/use Dangerous Deseases plugin - it was many times reported for causing crashes. Some additional patches/addons: CACO - iNeed patch (choose second CACO file from Files section) iNeed - Dynamic Weight Changes ==NEW== Realistic Needs and Diseases All-In-One for USLEEP Another great basic needs mod. Choose this one or INEED.
ZF Primary Needs Qualitative and pretty underrated mod that you can use as almost all-in-one simple immersion overhaul, with almost all needed features (if you don't want to combine many different mods or don't like them for some reasons). Read the mod description page carefully, it contains all needed information.
Remember Your Needs ==NEW==Wanna even simplier, purely notification imitation of needs? Displays a notification every 8 hours reminding you to drink, eat and sleep, without any actual debuffs.
Vitality Mode - Basic Needs - Eat Drink and Sleep "INEED simplified". More feature-packed than completely simple mods, but not that script-heavy as INEED, and still with everything needed for "needs immersion". If your setup can handle INEED in terms of script load - ofc, there's nothing better than it, but this mod is a great and fresh alternative. I'm using it myself atm.
Sated and energnized? Let's continue.
Wet and Cold Amazingly immersive mod. It adds touch of realism to your game. Drips, soggy feet, breaths, rain blind, snow accumulation on clothes, speed reduction during blizzard and so on. But it’s also pretty script-heavy so if you already runnin heavy-modded game think carefully before using it. Get this mod or the anove below (recommended). There's also a HD cloak texture and bigger HD texture pack ==NEW== for it.
R.A.S.S. Rain Ash And Snow Shaders - Wet Frost Cold Dust ==NEW==A complex yet pretty lightweight mod which adds visual effects to the Player and NPCs during certain conditions. Ash, wetness, cold and frost effects, bubbles of exhaling underwater etc. This mod is doing close to the same what Wet and Cold does, but much more light in terms of implementation - and it's my recommendation to get it instead of Wet and Cold, until you want it no matter what.
Frostbite Now, the "Frostfall-lite" mod. Adds a lightweight and highly compatible cold weather recognition system to Skyrim.
Burdens Of Skyrim One more qualitative mod from the same author. Adds a strength metric for weapons and armor. Equipment weighing more than your current strength cannot be equipped. Strength is increased by using weapons and armor.
Skyswim - Encumbered Swimming Swimming becomes really hard if you do it wrong. Great for those who want a challenging survival experience. NOTE: mod conflicts with racial overhaul like Imperios.
Functional Bags Add various functional bags and pouches (using Dragten meshes and textures) and other special containers. The bags can be opened, used to auto-sort and simplify your main inventory. They reduce the weight of items within by 20% (40% when the bag is worn) and finally, certain bags can be worn on the right side or swapped to the left side on the spot. The bag interaction menu can be hotkeyed for convenience.
Nordic Cooking Nordic Cooking is about preparing simple, hardy meals that are low-sodium, tasty and nourishing. None of the recipes call for even a touch of salt. These meals get their flavor from Skyrim’s bounty: vegetables, wild game, wines, and the lands wide selections of mead. No vanilla items altered. No scripts.
Ovens and Churns of Skyrim This mod places ovens and churns added by the Hearthfire DLC throughout Skyrim. Main cities, settlements, and player houses are covered. Great mod if you're running needs mods.
Torch Craft This mod offers a really awesome variety of torches to craft. Neat little addition for your survival mod list.
Realistic Capacity Much more realistic carry weight limits. Also fully configurable in MCM.
Relationship Dialogue Overhaul - RDOMod adds more then 5000 voiced lines of dialogues. All lines are voiced using the original voices from the game and consist of existing lines that have been added in new and suitable situations, as well as completely new dialogue created by editing multiple lines together to form brand new ones. Friends talk to you more like friends. Followers have more much to say when speaking to them. If your spouse is a follower, he/she will talk to like a spouse instead of a generic follower. NPCs who dislike you (not bandits and forsworn, but citizens of towns and cities) will have more insults to say and may even completely stop talking to you if you continue to pester them. There's also a "lite" version of the mod here ==NEW== (I'm personally still using the full version with over 1500 mods setup for over 3 years and never had issues with it).
Hunters Not BanditsNPC's will not use taunts or insults when fighting animals. Especially hunters will behave in a more realistic manner, as well as fixing the odd behavior where enemies could start using greetings and other unfitting dialogues right after they killed you. Compatible with RDO (install RDO version).
Realistic Conversations Npcs talk more often to each others. And will less likely greet to you from a distance, they will also greet less often too, making them to not act as much as robots. NPCs are also more clever and will know for example if they talked to a npc and will therefore talk to another or not talk at all. Compatible with RDO.
Lore-Based Loading Screens Adds 160+ new loading screens steeped in Tamrielic lore. Become deeper immersed in the Elder Scrolls mythos with tons of quotes from in-game books (from Skyrim and past Elder Scrolls titles), history, mythology, and little-known facts about the world of Tamriel.
Misc Dialogue Edits ==NEW==This mod improves dialogue that other mods don't, contributing to make conversations in Skyrim as plausible and immersive as possible, while taking compatibility into account. Everything here is intended to feel like it could have been part of the vanilla game all along, but it also supports alternate start mods.
More Dialogue Options ==NEW==A mod from the same author which adds dialogue options in a simple and immersive way to improve various conversations in the vanilla game. The responses are all voiced by using the original voice files of the game. The new options are meant to feel like they should have been in the game all along.
More to Say ==NEW==You have more to say. NPCs have more to say. This mod adds miscellaneous inconsequential dialogue to existing NPCs. Can be used with two mods above, RDO and most of dialogue mods in general. As it's completely standalone.
Immersive Speechcraft Adds several dialogue options to most of Skyrim's inhabitants allowing for increased interaction and role-play.
Khajiit Speak - Complete Dialogue OverhaulComplete overhaul of all the in-game dialogue to match Khajiit speech patterns. Now covers the vanilla game and all DLCs. If you're using it, don't forget to take a look on this new amazing addon for it which is supporting many popular mods :3
Ask the WayAnother little yet immersive one - allows you to ask the way to certain places in city.
Even Better Quest Objectives - EBQOThis mod enhances the quest descriptions in the vanilla game so that you have a clear sense of where your are supposed to go and what you are supposed to do besides looking at the quest markers. Let's face it - the quest descriptions were quite bad, not specifying where you are supposed to go by themselves, and forcing you to play with the quest markers on all the time. This affects nearly 250 quest objectives/descriptions, spanning over 160 quests, editing descriptions that were either really vague or didn't exist at all.
Travel related mods:
Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul A lightweight but immersive overhaul of both the vanilla Skyrim carriage system and Dawnguard's ferry system. Realistic and bug-free. Also install this minor patch for it if you'll have clipping issues with towns/cities mods.
Fast Travel Cost Fast traveling from the map now costs gold based on the distance traveled.
Nordic Wayshrines A lightweight wayshrines (alternative & lore-friendly fast travel system) mod super-beautiful wayshrine design.
Wayshrines of Tamriel One more similar, old-but-good and simple wayshrines mod. An alternative to previous one.
Liminal Bridges - A portal mod Inspired by the eluvians in the Dragon Age universe, Liminal Bridges is a different take on the traditional teleportation and portal mods.
Fast Travel by Horse Fast travel is not quite "immersive" in first turn and many players disable it, but if you're using it - this mod is much immersive indeed.
Delphine's Map Reveals Dragon Mounds This mod adds map markers to all dragon burial mound around Skyrim. When you have Delphine's map in your inventory, you'll have to click it (like you were equipping it.) Then the markers will be enabled and automatically revealed to you as undiscovered map markers.
Point The Way Simple, but greatly immersive one. Road signs have been placed at several major intersections that were either lacking signs, or didn't have enough signs to indicate the full extent of where you could travel on a road.
Dragonborn - Solstheim Boat Travel Adds row boats to the island of Solstheim that can be used as a travel system to four different locations. Also includes a knapsack to store items on your boat.

Skyrim Reputation New and simply amazing, unique mod that adds ACTUAL reputation system to Skyrim - how townfolk, factions and other people react on you and talk to you, depending on how known (good or evil) your character is.
SkyBirds - Airborne Perching Birds Real flying interactive bird actors for Skyrim. New bird models that can sing, hop about, peck, fly dynamically and perch wherever they want. The birds will fly away from enemies, build nests in trees and eat insects. They can be killed and have new alchemy ingredients. It's also strongly recommended to grab of the performance patches for this mod here, to prevent script lag with heavy-modded setup.
Holidays Mod from the same author that brings holidays to Skyrim settlements and will change their appearance based on TES lore.
Fertility Mode If you're playing a female character and wanna that much realism - yes, there's a mod even for this :)
Bring Out Your Dead Adds proper burial sites for various unique NPCs found throughout Skyrim. Note: may lead to minor conflicts, like clipping issues, when used with settlement overhauls. Test your game properly before keeping it (if such thing will bother you).
Time Passes This mod is for everyone that uses realism mods to enhance gameplay and adds to that making time pass when performing actions like reading, eating, crafting, smelting, trading, cooking, and more - everything configurable in MCM. A more polished alternative/successor of "Living Takes Time" mod. Use this one or the mod below.
Time Flies ==NEW==A very similar mod with minor differences - use one or another, not both.
Skyrim Is Windy Skyrim Is Windy is a mod made from scratch that will improve your immersion in Skyrim by making flora such as plants, grass, bushes and trees to animate and react to winds.
It covers every asset for every DLC. Including trees/plants/grass and bushes on Solstheim island. Compaitble with SFO and all grass mods by default, as well as with all possible weather mods. EVT patch available.
Dirt and Blood - Dynamic Visual Effects ==NEW==Your character will accumulate dirt and blood dynamically, which you can clean by swimming, standing in the rain or taking a bath. The effects are mostly visual only and do not affect gameplay. NPCs will also get bloody as a result of battles. Mod is designed to be simple and lightweight.
vwr Wet Eyes ==NEW==A scripted effect that is meant to simulate your eyes getting wet and blurred from water.
Lanterns for Guards etc ==NEW==A simple mod to add carriable lanterns to guards, vigilants, wardens and all NPC's that normally carry torches. Basically its a torch replacer but without removing torches from the world.
End Times ==NEW==Tired of the Dragonborn prophecy's success being a given? This mod gives your savegame a timer that you have to defeat Alduin by, otherwise he'll swallow the world! Fully customizable with an MCM menu.
Talkative Dragons Ever found it weird that dragons, fully sapient beings, have never spoken a word while you’re doing your best trying to defeat them? This mod changes that.
Destructible Skyrim - Breakable Objects Smash objects to pieces and watch the physics enabled debris fly everywhere. Be careful in taverns or shops though as the guards won't take kindly to such reckless destruction.
Address Unknown Mod removes any text on all doors you might encounter. The only text you can eventually see is [Locked], when the door is locked. This also has the effect of removing any text indicating the level of the lock: no more "Apprentice", etc.
Note that you won't be able to see who's the the owner of which house, even after you've entered it. You will have to remember that yourself.
Not So Fast - Main Quest Introduces pauses in the otherwise hectic pace of the main quest and alters a few other plot points along the way. The actual time delays and whether the Season Unending negotiations are skipped can be configured with MCM or the console.
Not So Fast - Mage Guild Introduces two pauses in the rather short mage guild quest line at the College of Winterhold and allows for customizing the start of the three apprentices' quests. The actual time delays can be configured with MCM.
Death Expressions Applies random death faces to actors/NPCs that's killed in game. People won't look like they're sleeping after gettings stabbed in the stomach or shot in the face. Sesiously, I can't believe we didn't have such mod all the years before. You can see a showcase of it here.
Unique Tavern Menu New, created from scratch and based on location, food lists in taverns. Much more food and variety.
Immersive Laundry Adds decorative clotheslines and other washing-related items throughout Skyrim, for a touch of realism.
Afterlife for NPCs Valiant Nords will go to Sovngarde, while soul trapped characters will be sent to the Soul Cairn, upon death.
Coins of Tamriel Ever wonder how an economy could survive on gold? Why are there no silver or copper coins? Why are there septims in Nordic and Dwemer ruins? This mod aims to fix those problems.
Dig up Dragon Bones and Scales Dig up dragon bones and scales from burial mounds. Gain access to bones and scales without starting the main quest or fighting dragons.
Daedra Facts LS A jesting mod - various random facts, possibly realistic yet ones you never thought about, presented by Hermaeus Mora.
More Goldpiles It always was making me sad that those beautiful gold piles exist in only 2 places in the game. This tiny mod distributes gold piles logically to many other places (but carefully, so don't worry you won't find a gold pile on each step). Absolutely amazing tiny immersion mod.
Better Stealing Simple but immersive mod. If you steal something and nobody sees you do it then the item will not be "stolen".
Go to bed This mod allows your character to actually sleep in bed.
SkyrimSouls - Unpaused Game Menus Does exactly how it's named. Now opening ingame menus won't pause the game. You can tweak which menus exactly will have this effect in .ini file. Also you may be interested in this addon for it. Mod is SKSE plugin so it doesn't occupy .esp slot.
3PCO - 3rd Person Camera Overhaul An absolutely must-have mod who players who spend most amount of time in 3rd person. This mod is just revolutionary! It imitates modern AAA games camera movement, which is based on player world coordinates, giving immersive smooth camera follow effect, especially noticable in combat. If you're playing mostly as archer character, install this improvement addon [instead of it].
Wearable Lanterns Another great immersion mod from Frostfall author. May the light be always with you!
Equippable Tomes - Belt-Worn Books Equippable Tomes is a mod that adds tomes and books that can be worn on your character's belt in order to increase the power of their spells. Unenchanted versions are included as well if you just want to wear books that don't affect spell power or enchant your own. Also grab the texture improvement patch.
iActivate Simple but genious mod. It removes the small icon and adjacent text that indicates what action is available when activating an object, whether it is talking to a person, opening a door, searching a chest or what have you.
Simply Knock Simple but very immersive mod that will add an option to knock before trying enter the house or to lockpick the door. Also there's a patch for Andromeda.
Dead Body Collision Fix All dead bodies are now solid and can collide with yourself and other NPCs - no more walking straight through corpses.
Pumping Iron - Dynamic Muscle Growth This mod was not updated for a very long time, but it’s still working great. It adds dynamic muscle growth system. Every time your character gets a skill increase in a combat skill (or smithing) his muscles will be considered to have been trained a little. The more skill increases, the more training. When a 'trained' character sleeps, his muscles will grow ever so slightly.
Real Names Mod adds names to most of generic NPCs of Skyrim.
Volkihar - Silver Be Gone Tiny and simple, but really immersive mod that adds traces of blood on silverware in Volkihar castle.
Loot and Degradation Great immersion mod that basically offers 2 main features: - enemies now can use enchanted weapons. - weapons and armors will now eventually degrade because of combat. You can repair and temper your weapon/armor Mod also provides useful widgets to display your current armor/weapon status. You can also grab the new icons pack ==NEW== for it.
Equipment Durability System This may be a more lightweight alternative to previous mod. It's also SKSE-only plugin so it doesn't occupy .esp slot.
Honed Metal -NPC Crafting and Enchanting services- Great mod that partially covers what Loot and DEgradation does, but it's focusing on this directly and adds much more features. Blacksmiths and mages all over Skyrim will be able to craft, temper and enchant your equipment, including any armor and weapons added by mods. The quality and price of their work will depend on their skill as blacksmiths and enchanters as well as your barter prowess. Fully customizable through an MCM menu.
Bathing in Skyrim Bathing in Skyrim adds bathing and cleanliness to Skyrim. Over time, your character will become visually more filthy and you will receive a penalty to your Speechcraft and disease resistance. If you become exceptionally filthy, you will also receive a penalty to Sneak as enemies smell you coming. To avoid these penalties, you will need to bathe yourself regularly. Staying clean also awards small bonuses depending on what type of soap you use. All mod values can be configured via MCM menu. Note: one of mod's items, spriggan soap, has an effect of all animals stop attacking you after you've used it. While it's not gamebreaking or technically a bug, it's pretty weird effect for such an common item - just so you can be aware :)
Hold Border Banners This mod adds banners along roadsides at the boundaries of two holds. The banner you see will show you which hold you are entering. If you're not sure what the banner represents, just walk up to it and it will show the name of the hold.
Immersive hold borders This mod adds towers and guards to the major roads at the edge of a holds boundary. Also take a look on a patch for it.
Unique Border Gates Compatible with previous mod, this one is overhauling vanilla border gates. A patch for the Shire mod will be useful if you're using it.
Public Executions Adds public executions to Solitude after the initial vanilla execution event and the option to capture bandits for executions.
Face to face conversation Automatically switch to first person when talking. You can also switch back and forth between first person and third person.
Traps Make Noise - More Dangerous Traps Enemy NPCs will now pay attention when trap is triggered near them. Also, as you can remember, vanilla traps damage was barely noticable. this mod fixes this and makes traps much more dangerous.
Bells of Skyrim Mod adds bells to major skyrim towns and cities that will alarm citizens in case of danger, like dragon/vampire/bandit attacks.
Improved Adoptions Ever was bored with vanilla adoption system? Try this!. It contains over a dozen dialogue scenes between the kids and others between your spouse and housecarl Your kids will hang out with other kids when they're in town, and join them in running around town. They'll actually visit the places they say they do. If you've been missing for 3 or more days they'll send the Courier packing with a message for you. You can ask your kids and spouse to accompany you to your new home and have them follow you there!
Customizable Lights Customize your torch, candlelight spell and more in-game with features like brightness, range and smart dynamic shadows.
Remove Invisible Barriers A little mod that removed the invisible walls around some objects like the whiterun walls the solitude DB Escape Bridge. Note: mod causes crashes in Markarth (most likely due to corrupted meshes), so just delete \Markarth folder in \Meshes\Architecture before installing the mod.
Plethora of mods which aren't directly falling under single strict category, or just tiny in size/functionality - but often not tiny in terms of value. Many tiny hidden gems here. None of mods in this section are absolutely not obligatory, but may be very useful to add neat little details or make your game much more comfortable in common sense.
Various mods, patches and fixes - these can tehcnically belong to any of categories above, but are usually really tiny or matter of taste ones, so grouped here.
Paramount - Epitome A plethora of cool tweaks and effects - not directly a bug fixes, but rather changes to various effects or mechanics that could possibly annoy you in the game.
Remove Distracting Things A collection of files that remove distracting things. Similar mod, but more wrapped around visual things.
Scrolling Doesn't Switch POV (SKSE) Stops scrolling switching between 1st/3rd person (you can still manually change POV and scroll to zoom in/out in 3rd person). Simple dll (no esp or performance hit). Can enable/disable switching between 1st->3rd and 3rd->1st in the INI.
Optional Starting Spells This mod removes the default couple of spells (flames and healing) and adds the spell tomes to your starting area, compatible with vanilla and Alternate start - Live Another Life. Comes with a FOMod installer with multiple options.
Disable Follower Collision This mod disables collisions between the player and allied NPCs. Allied NPCs include followers, actors commanded by the player, and actors commanded by followers.
Weapon Speed Fix ==NEW==Simple mod to add a control system to weapon speed, preventing speed bugs that sometimes can happen with certain buff or perk effects.
Dexion Fix ==NEW==Add an enchantmen to the clothes of Dexion with the effects of ethereal form and light. The bug when Dexion attacks to others in Dawnguard Fort and in the Volkihar Castle happens when someone defeated him, when that happens a scirpt happen and makes you draw your weapon. So this fix make him in a ethereal form until he becomes mad.
Convenient Supernaturals ==NEW==Have you ever wanted to play as a Vampire or Werewolf without the hassle of finding a Vampire to change you or doing the Companions quest line/Ring of Hircine quest line? Now you can be either one whenever you want.
Dynamic Item Repricer ==NEW==Ever felt some specific items categories are too cheap or too expensive? This mod allows you to dynamically reprice certain item categories. For now, this is limited to spell tomes, as that category was most pressing for myself.
No Havok Explosion ==NEW==Removes physical pushing force from some explosive effects. Objects won't be scattered when receive these explosion (some spells, weapons and enemies).
Rolling Thunder ==NEW==When you use a shout, Rolling Thunder automatically switches to a random shout from a list you create.
Mapseller ==NEW==Adds the cartographer Nataly Dravarol to the game. She sells maps of the territories. If you have the DLCs, there will be mapsellers for those new areas too. These maps show you every map marker in that territory (except the military camps), but they're not for fast travel.
Neutral Hjerim ==NEW==After Blood on the Ice, Hjerim is purchasable, regardless of Civil War involvement or lack thereof.
Better Skill and Quest Books Names No more opening every book or checking it's value to see if it increases a skill or gives you a quest. This mod renames skill books and quest books so that you can identify them quickly by just hovering with your crosshair. It also renames some journals, notes, and letters with the same purpose.
Potema Fix (CTD - Crash) In most of cases you won't have this issue at all because this bug is fixed by XPMSE, which I strongly recommend to use. But if for some reasons you don't have XPMSE - this will help.
Barter Fix(SKSE Plugin) SKSE plugin which fixes an issue where the player can't get any money from selling when merchant's on-hand golds reach a certain value.
Armor Appearance Changes the appearance of the player's armor. Open MCM menu and choose armor you want to change the model for - then just do it.
Open Inventory May be useful for I have no idea what cheating/testing purposes. But still, it may be.
Numerical Smithing Upgrades Changes the naming system of upgraded equipment to a number-based system. So instead of items being amended with (fine), (superior), (exquisite), etc., you have (+1), (+2), (+3) and so on.
Gamepad Plus Plus For those masochists playing modded Skyrim with joysticks. Gamepad++ brings extended functionality for gamepad players adding many controller shortcuts previously only available to keyboard users, as well as making double press, triple press and hold actions plus key combos available allowing up to 80 emulated keypresses to mimic keyboard hotkeys set for other mods.
Another Sorting Mod Yet another mod to sort your inventory. Supports all DLCs and many popular mods. Also there's a little addon for it.
iEquip iEquip is simply a revolutionary mod in terms of interface usage comfort and saving your time - a fully featured hotkey gear switching and equipment management mod, complete with advanced SkyUI HUD widget. Its purpose is to reduce the amount of time spent in menus managing weapons, potions, poisons and much more. Mod is really complex and still in development - so it still has some bugs here and there (which are being quickly fixes usually), but if you'll be using mainly its base features only and will not use All Geared Up addon - it will work perfectly fine. Try it for sure if you have setup with a lot of content, items & spells.
AutoSave Manager Creates automatic saves for you based on certain events, timed intervals or manually, similarly to well-known CASM from Fallout3 and New Vegas.
Outfit Switcher ==NEW==This mod allows you to save your current outfit in its entirety, while switching to a previously saved one. It works for all items, including all armor, ammo, primary weapons, secondary weapons, left hand weapons and shields, including all* modded items, no matter which custom slot they use.
Better Free Camera ==NEW==Toggle free camera mode, adjust speed, change FOV, toggle animcam, toggle clipping, and even manipulate time with a single push of a button. No need to use console commands anymore. Compatible with Enderal.
Potion of Reset attributes ==NEW==Add new potion with attribute reset feature that allow you assign your attribute points (Health, Stamina, Magicka) once again after used. Use this with Perks Reset mod, you can rebuild your character completely.
Universal Poser ==NEW==Use hotkeys to select poses from any poser pack installed without any ESP or other config files being required.
CIWM - Custom Idle WheelMenu ==NEW==Allow you add custom idle animations into the game and play through a wheelmenu. Time to create your exclusive custom emote wheelmenu in Skyrim.
Save and Execute Console Commands ==NEW==Allows you to save and execute console commands in game silently. You can also have them automatically execute for certain events, such as combat start and loading your game.
BestInClassPlusPlus - SKSE Plugin ==NEW==This plugin enhances this functionality by considering more categories and types for armor, clothing, weapons, and ammunition. It replaces the vanilla method entirely and provides a better alternative to what was already in the game. Skyrim considers around 10 types or classes, this plugin brings this number up to 24. This makes it so no longer are heavy and light armor thrown into the same pot when comparing which is the best. The same is done for different weapon types like daggers, swords, axes, and so forth. Supports barter, container, and the player inventory.
Configurable Commentary Rate Slider ==NEW==A simple SkyUI configuration menu to control the frequency of idle dialogue from followers and other NPCs in the world. Compatible with every follower mod ever, no patches needed.
Face Light This mod adds lighting spell "Facelight" to make face look better in dark places. Mostly a mod for screenshots.
Assigned Storage Assign any container to a pre-defined global storage category. Full auto-storage and sorting capabilities. "Learn" mod-added items and create ignore lists per-category. Optionally link crafting stations to global storage. NEW: Drop an assortment of movable containers and toggle locking them in place, or pick them up and carry them with you.
Puzzle Solver Mod adds a shout : open DragonClaw-Doors and solve Animal-Pillar-Puzzles. Radius is 2048 units (= about 29.25 meters).
SkyTrek - Skyrim on Autopilot Mod allows automated horse/dragon riding and walking to set and radiant destinations with varying speeds. Also includes idle mode, automated NPC following, ability to set a custom destination for travel and an automated combat system. For RP, videos or screenarchery etc. Note: it DOES NOT PLAY THE GAME FOR YOU.
SkyTweak This mod allows you to customize almost any ingame value. Very useful when you're running big list of gameplay mods and need to configure them to work properly and balanced.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT SECTION, DO NOT SKIP IT
Here comes some "final" mods and/or actions that you'll need. Due to how they are made or how they are working, you should deal with them after your mod list is more or less complete. DynDOLOD, ASIS, DSR and some other actions needed to finalize your setup. Let's set them up - the final push is now!
#1 - BUILD A BASHED PATCH
Run Wrye Bash (if you don't have it or forgot why you need a Bashed Patch, return to stability section, step #7). At the bottom, you'll see plugin called Bashed Patch, 0. Right-click on it and click on "Build Patch" option, click ok and build the patch. It will take some time. If the process will be interrupted with some errors popped in window - just disable the mod listed and build the patch again. This happens really rare, so most likely you won't even encounter that at all. We'll run it again - for now it was needed to make sort of "ultra-easy-one-click-basic-merging" of some patches and tiny mods. Can't build the bashed patch cuz you have more than 254 active plugins? Simply disable as many last mods in load order as needed for the list to have less then 255 active plugins, and build the bashed patch. You can repeat this action several times to easily reduce amount of active plugins as much as possible before merging them yourself.
If you will still have inactive plugins after this step (Wrye Bash merges only [some] mods, not all mods that can be merged), proceed to step two.
#2 - MERGE YOUR MODS (optional, if you're still above 254 plugins)
Over 255 active plugins limit? Worry not! If you don't have Merge Plugins or forgot why you need a to merge mods, return to stability section, step #15. Note: MO2 users, once again, can use zMerge which is inbuilt into zEdit, instead of Merge Plugins. You can also watch this tutorial video.
So, let's go! It's not hard at all - just do it slowly. Watch this video for "fast yet enough" instructions or this video for more in-depth turorial. Our main task now is to get amount of plugins to 254 or lower. Merging process itself is very easy and the main issue is to know which mods you can actually merge. Until you are building a super-heavy mod list (with like 700+ mods), you can you the next simple instructions which can consider "a simple steps for easy merging": 1) You can ofc merge everything possible into a single .esp, but that's not recommended. Try to merge the mods of same "common" category. For example, merge weapons & armors mods in one merged .esp. patches into second and various other small gameplay mods in third one. Also, make sure to enable .bsa extraction in Merge Plugins like shown here (or similar option in zMerge if you're using it). 2) Follow the "Rule Of Three". Just grab some mods you want to merge and see if: - All mods you wanna merge are not directly conflicting (between themselves, conflicts with base game .esm and dlcs is fine), using the xEdit option showed on this screenshot. - All mods you wanna merge do NOT have MCM. - All mods you wanna merge do NOT have navmesh records (the records showed on this screenshot). If answer to all 3 questions is "NO" - you can easily merge these mods in a few clicks using Merge Plugins basic functionality - just make sure to place them one after another in load order (to avoid "non-contiguous" error in MP). If some mods don't fit the "rule", just leave exclude them from to-merge list. Oh, and NEVER merge .ESM plugins. And now, the exciting detail! Remember the indicators? This indicator means that #2 and #3 in "Rule Of Three" you don't need to check for this mod already - only check the mods for conflicts in TES5Edit and add them to the merge :) 3) Repeat this until you have as many mods to merge as possible and make the merge. Remember that in rare cases MP will show you errors in some mods, that doesn't mean crashes - you can ignore them to add this mod to merge as well, as showed on this screenshot. 4) Remember that you can merge merged .esp plugins as well - as many times as you wannna - so better do everything slowly, step by step, merging mods by tens or so - don't try to merge 100 mods in on fell swoop if you're doing this first time :) 5) Merge mods until your amount of plugins will be less than 250. Profit! Note: "rule of three" is just the most "simple-to-go" one, which you can use as a "base" for merging without any additional actions required. Merging mods with navmesh records is also not hard at all - in this case you just need to rebuild navmeshes in CK Such details are coming with experience and you should not be afraid of them - and you can always be sure that the guide provides you with all needed "first steps" for modding experience. For more in-depth but easy-to-swallow tips and tricks for making more "hard" merges, check out this tasty tutorial from ETAC authoress (explains navmeshed mods merging as well).
#3 - REBUILD & TWEAK YOUR BASHED PATCH
Run Wrye Bash and rebuild your Bashed patch, same as you did in step one.
#4 - MAKE A MERGED PATCH
Run TES5Edit (if you don't have it, return to stability section, step #6). Now, watch the part of this video. Link is with timing, but just in case, you need to start watching from 4:45.
After it's generated, open it and delete leveled records (also shown in the video). If you're using NMM, watch till 6:41, if you're using MO, watch till 7:01. Deleting the leveled records is needed as Bashed Patch that we made in previous step, handles this a bit better. Don't forget to clean unneeded masters.
Q: why not to use Smashed Patch instead? It's said this tool is doing everything both Bashed and Merged patch are doing in terms of conflicts, but just better. So? A: Mator Smash is indeed an amazing work! And indeed, it often covers more conflicting records merging then Bashed or Merged patch do, so if you're using Smashed Patch, you don't need neither Bashed or Merged. But the thing is, whatever its algorithm is, it's doing those records merging pretty "wild" - often inaccurate, which can lead to various issues, from just weird ones, like double merchant stock, to more serious ones, like visible ingame bugs and crashes. No automated tool is perfect (Bashed and Merged too), but atm, Smashed Patch is just working too much inaccurate which can sometimes bring you more headache then good results. If you wanna use it instead of Bashed/Merged combination, you're free too, but keep in mind to always check the Smashed Patch yourself manually after building it, and make a deep ingame test. Once again, this is a great tool with a lot of efforts put into it, but I simply can't directly recommend or disrecommend it. Use at your own preference.
#5 - RUN Nemesis/FNIS, ASIS & DSR PATCHES (if using them)
- ASIS patcher file is named "ASIS.jar" in \Data\SkyProc Patchers\ASIS. Remember to [not] use anything besides perks, spells and potions. Click on "Patch" and wait until it's finished, it can take couple of minutes. Remember to run patcher each time you've installed mods that add/change NPCs, perks or spells. You can also just make a shortcut of "ASIS.jar" to your desktop to same time in future.
- DSR patcher is file named "Dual Sheath Redux Patch.jar" in \Data\SkyProc Patchers\Dual Sheath Redux Patch. Just run the file, click on "Patch" and wait until it's finished, it can take few of minutes (usually longer than ASIS). Remember to run patcher each time you've installed mods that add/change weapons/armors. You can also just make a shortcut of "Dual Sheath Redux Patch.jar" to your desktop to same time in future.
- FNIS patcher is file named "GenerateFNISforUsers.exe" in \Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users. Run the file, choose essential patches in the list of options in lower part of window ("Gender Specific Animations" and "Skeleton Arm Fix"), optional patches if needed and click on "Update FNIS Behavior". Wait until it's finished (usually it takes just a few seconds), close the window and click on "Yes" when asked (this will simply add a shortcut of patcher at your desktop). Make sure to run patcher in the same way each time you installed (or uninstalled) mods that are affecting animations.
- Nemesis patcher is file named "Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine.exe" in \Data\Nemesis_Engine. Run the file, tick on options to receive support for mods (if you have those) and click on "Update Engine" (marked as "1" here). Wait until it's finished (usually it takes just a few seconds), close the window and now click on "Launch Nemesis Behavior Engine" (marked as "2" here). Wait until it finishes (this can take couple of minutes depending on your PC specs and mod list) and close the windows. Good job, done! Make sure to run patcher in the same way each time you installed (or uninstalled) mods that are affecting animations.
#6 - MAKE YOUR DISTANT OBJECTS BEAUTIFUL AS NEVER BEFORE
What is DynDOLOD? It's a constantly updated, awesome and great, revolutionary, in some sense - but needs some time to install and use. Its a successor of Tes5LodGen, which is basically generating the LODs (optimized textures of distant objects far from you - trees, buildings, light sources, glowing windows etc). Vanilla Skyrim LODs just sucks. For example, somewhere far infront of you (you know that let's say) there are 200 trees. But game engine will load 10 LODs as maximum - and so, distant view will look bald, and when you'll come closer - all the rest 190 trees will just instantly pop-up out of nowhere. Annoying, isn't it?
Secondly, neither Skyrim engine and Tes5LodGen were able to generate LODs for mods. DynDOLOD can! Yes, yes, yes - that's what you're thinking about. If let's say you installed a mod that adds new houses near village - you will see these houses LODs in distance. If mod places new trees - you will see them all. If you're playing some kind of new land mod - even here, LODs will be generated.
DynDOLOD even has 3D-LODs option for trees! This literally means LODs can be generated in 3D-like look with greater quality and with meshes (LOD don't have models by default, only flat textures, that's why even while being dense, they still noticably differ from actual rendered trees) so you won't actaully notice the transition between regular objects textures and LODs, making exploraton almost seamless.
That's what DynDOLOD about - it's absolutely essential mod that will drastically improve how your worldscape look. Absolutely simplified installation of Dyndolod looks like this:
1) Installing DynDOLOD required mods.
2) Installing DynDOLOD core files, namely the "DynDOLOD Resources" via mod manager.
3) Downloading the DynDOLOD files (archive with generators .exe) themselves, namely the "DynDOLOD" file, manually and unpacking it anywhere you want.
4) Installing billboards in the same order you installed trees/landscape mod, starting from "Vanilla Skyrim LOD Billboards from this page (i.e. if you have tree mods A, B, C, you should install billboards for mod A, then for mod B, then for mod C, and overwrite).
5) Installing patches via mod manager.
6) Generating textures via texgen.exe, archiving them, dropping to your mod manager mods folder, installing via mod manager.
7) Making sure no antivirus is running, or adding DynDOLOLD executable to its whitelist. Disabling ASIS, DSR, Cutting Room Floor, Bashed/Merged Patch, Skybirds, Another Skyrim - Riften .esp plugins (if you have them) before running the generator executable.
8) Generating dyndolod via dyndolod.exe (running it as admin), archiving the files, dropping to your mod manager mods folder, installing via mod manager.
9) Activating dyndoldod .esp plugin and plugins you disabled (if) in step 6.
10) Profit :3

To make some lods even more detailed, you can use this great mod alongside DynDOLOD (install before generating).
I also highly recommending this great distant "noise" (distant terrain) texture replacer for best possible blending. It works flawlessly in LE, just download manually, add to mod manager and install.
For 3D LODs instructions (they are actually more then simple), read the "3d lods help.txt" tutorial inside the main EVT file archive. I'll make a video tutorial for 3D LODs a bit later on my YT channel. Note: 3D LODs can eat some FPS depending on your PC specs.
#7 - THAT'S IT! YOU CAN START PLAYING!
Congratulations, you've made it to the very end! If you was attentive during all the way, you will now have beautiful, interesting and challenging Skyrim journey you've always dreamed about. Just make a test run for a few hours first, to make 100% sure everything is fine and you didn't forget anything. Skyrim is a legendary game and everyone who plays it deserves the best graphics and visuals. If you don't want to go trough the whole list yourself and think about which mods and how to combine, or just don't have time - this section is what you need! Below you can find several "plug and play" mod lists that I personally compiled - so you don't have to worry about testing mods, finding which play well together and which not - don't have to worry about compatibility at all. Just choose the mod list that you like the most, by reading its description - and then simply mimic it in no time. Playing modded Skyrim (or Skyrim at all) first time? Wanna have casual combat and be OP? Hardcore combat and survival? Lightweight mod list with "vanilla plus" experience or super-heavy mod list where each tiniest details is improved? Modules section has a mod list for any preference. For graphics recommendations (ENB presets, certain texture mods etc - visit the graphics guide modules section).
Important note #1: each of modules assumes you already implemented Stability section of graphics guide. While graphics part is ofc totally up to you (and depends on your PC capabilities), make 200% sure you've implemented whole Stability section as it's an essential one, no matter how big mod list you are planning to have. I won't be able to provide any troubleshooting if you didn't make the Stability part. Implement it.
Important note #2: some of the mod lists names may be hinting their setup, some no - mostly I just picked the names I wanted and that's it. Name of the mod list can be purely cosmetic at all. So make sure to read each module description, besides the name.
Important note #3: after you mimic the mod list (any of it), proceed to the "Mods to be installed or actions to be made in the end of modding process" section, located above.

This module is a perfect mod list if you're playing Skyrim for the first time at all. Any TES game is an immensely huge, many times bigger than any other game of similar type - and it's an unspoken canon to first time play game without changing it by mods. First of all, if you'll install a lot of mods to your first walkthrough - you will be simply lost in amount of features, spells, items, quests and so on - because you won't have experience of original game. Secondly, playing with original functionality will help you to see how insane is the difference between vanilla and modded game.
This mod list is small and will not change any game mechanics drastically, but fix bugs or just plainly boring/silly vanilla mechanics, and add some content here and there - but in absolutely non-intrusive way. It will be still the vanilla Skyrim experience, just better.
Good! Now sort your load order using LOOT and you're good to go. Also, if you're owner of a widescreen monitor, install this fix and take a look at low-end section of the graphics guide if you have weak rig or just need to gain a few FPS.
Note: the "Mods to be installed or actions to be made in the end of modding process" section isn't required for this mod list. You can make step #1 in it, but that's up to you.
The Winking Skeever module is perfect for those who already played Skyrim and/or other TES games, and maybe even played with mods here and there, but still, never had a heavy-modded experience and not quite sure about own goals in terms of gameplay, or just played the game few years ago. Module will provide you with not only needed bugfixes and improvements, but also make add enough content & new mechanics, and make gameplay much more challenging and fun, without making it hardcore or adding too much new content - you will feel the game refreshed as much as not to become lost in new content. Just as much enough of everything to have a good "tease" of modded Skyrim yet with very fast modding process.
Good! Now proceed to the "Mods to be installed or actions to be made in the end of modding process" section. Required steps are #1, #3 and #4. Step #6 (DynDOLOD) is optional - it will make your game distant objects absolutely beautiful, but it requires some time to read about the installation, so decide yourself. Also, if you're owner of a widescreen monitor, install this this fix and take a look at low-end section of the graphics guide if you have weak rig or just need to gain a few FPS. After you've finished these steps, just sort your load order with LOOT and you're ready to go.
This module is highly immersive one, for player who wanna have overall game improvements and some new feature and content here and there for sure, but want Skyrim harsh environment to be the main challenge in first turn, without hardcore combat itself. Plus all possible visual and others imemrsive moments here and there. The winds chilling to the bones, dangerous waters and deseases, hunger and thirst, and of course, cozy warming at your camp fire. With this mod setup, game will be cruel and dangerous to you, in first turn, because of fearsome, strongly realistic survival aspects.
Now, choose between the next 2 mods. Both are great, and both have own advantages and disadvantages over each other. Read the mod pages and choose one your prefer yourself. I'd personally advise to go with iNEED, but once again, that's totally up to you.

Drunken Huntsman is a "golden middle" in terms of heavy-modded game. It's already a pretty heavy mod list that's making gameplay not only expanded, but greatly challening. It also adds much more new content as well as new gameplay features in each modding category. It's a mod list for those who already played with mods for some time and want "advance to the next level" and build their first really heavy-modded game - but, it's also not "that" huge to become ovewhelming in terms of both gameplay or modlist building process itself. Take into account that this module will make your game much harder - but also much more rewarding.
Good! Now proceed to the "Mods to be installed or actions to be made in the end of modding process" section and follow the steps in it. This module is for those who don't want neither hardcore combat or survival challenges, but have and endless adventuring spirint and wish to visit as many new lands and dungeons, make as many quests, solve as many puzzles and mysteries as possible. This is an adventuring/relic hunting/questing mod list that will be a great choice if you just want to have a vivid, interesting walkthrough with huge amount of content but without gameplay itself being hard.

A true hero of Skyrim. A protector of the realm. This module is the ultimate setup of mods - basically, very close to what I'm using myself. If you're a veteran Skyrim player and have decent modded walkthrough experience (or just crazy enough ^,,^), if you remember all its details and want dozens of new stories & adventures, if you want your gameplay to be incredibly challenging yet incredibly rewarding, if you want the each smallest, tiniest, microscopic detail of Skyrim gameplay to be improved, and bug/overlook - fixed, together with a lot of cool new features and mechanics, if you want nextgen, "devil in details" mod list that will surprise you on each step no matter how many hours (or thousands) or hours you have in this series - Fatherland Saviour is waiting. This mod list also contains not only general instructions, but also all needed tweaks, till the smallest ones, in mods MCMs, together with my own edits in many cases.
